Truthfully, if Ketheric was worth anything as a leader, he would have hired her on the spot. She's didnt recoil when Z'rell used authority, and she kept her wits about her, striking decisively at the right time. She would have made a fine True Soul infiltrator.
It's a bit silly considering the armor he's wearing. Okay, you can count on his flesh healing instantly, but if the halberd is stuck in his body, does that mean the armor is damaged - or does it autorepaire itself too?
@@8015908 Boss? She is easy-peasy 1-turn victim. As for me - we can name as Bosses in Act 1 just Spider Matriarch and mb a Hag, if you are not ready for her.
The grove was a cuck/bitch nest anyway. The tieflings are always complaining about shit and being annoying, druids can suck a fat one. Felt bad for three, likeable npcs, the rest were like yeah you can get raided mf. Saved them on my first run, now it's party time with the dominatrix maniac.
I made a Drow Durge character with doing the shittiest and most evil options fully in mind, but when I saw this cutscene for the first time I was like Oh hell no, no one is killing my unconventionally beautiful Murder Wife! Edit: Also spared the Goblins.
I really wish there was a way to gain her as a follower without having to sacrifice the grove. You lose soo much when you attack the grove, Dammon, access to unique rewards in Act 2 & 3, Karlach romance, I think Wyll & Karlach leaves your party permanently, the rest of the party will hate you; All you gain is Minthara and the 3 parasites she gifts you. I would love if you could lead her to the grove, turn on her and when she hits low health you go into a cutscene where you have a choice of killing her and gaining her armor, parasite, & the Lyre as a reward + the stuff from the grove as normal, OR you can have mercy on her and take her a prisoner. After the party when the tieflings depart for act 2, she'll break out of her prison and head to act 2 where you can save her from her fate & then again when she is being wiped. What you would lose is the ability to call the drider at the start of the Shadow Cursed Lands, which significantly inhibits your ability to traverse the land as you need that moonlantern or the blessing from the fairy inside. Another choice could just be to ask the Dream visitor to block the Absolute's influence over her until she starts to question her faith, then is either captured or you can tell her to flee with her life (Although that one is a little against her nature.)
There is a way around that, ignore the thing. You can kill Gut and have nothing to do with the grove. As long as you don’t steal the idol but you do kill the shadow druids Damon shows up in act 3.
@@mikewaterfield3599 I don’t know, I’ll have test it. Usually if you just leave act 1 without helping the grove, all the tiefling perish on the road, only leaving harpers in the Last Light Inn in act 2, and again no one shows up in act 3. Doesn’t matter if you kill 2 of the leaders, one leader, or no leaders. All the same outcomes last I’ve seen. I just wish you didn’t lose a massive chunk of content & rewards if you don’t help the tieflings man. That’s the only thing bad I have to say about the game after 300 hours.
@@sphinxoforion7422 yeah it annoyed the crap out of me. I’m only on my second play through. I wanted to be more true to my usually attitude as a D&D character. Lawful Evil to the core. I’ll help you if there is something in it for me. Stopping Khaga, freeing Halsen and then ignoring the gobo leaders apparently used to work. Not now apparently.
Its such a shame that Minthara is actually a good person deep down, as the only way to recruit her is to slaughter the grove and permanently lose several party members and plot threads in the process. I wish there was a way for her to join without that happening, because she could have so many good interactions with Halsin and Wyll. It feels so weird to see her try to go through a redemption arc during an evil playthrough, when it isn't even an option for good characters.
@@lexou8848 I meant it becomes obvious that she isn't a total bloodthirsty monster once you get to know her. I think she's similar to Astarion. Her morals are screwed up, and she's hungry for power, but she doesn't approve of pointless violence that doesn't get either of you closer to your goals. She has a lot of potential as a redeemable character
Yeah, I mean, not everyone that gets killed is a comic caricature of an evil bad guy, big surprise. To put it gently though - ignoring that she's another brainless follower of a million death cults populating Faerun - they that take the sword shall perish by the sword. I laughed while punting her into the abyss at the goblin camp. I'm still laughing now.
Her "I will not be slandered!" is the single best line delivery in the entire game. Her entire dialog delivery in this scene is phenomenal. Larian needs to just do the mea culpa, admit they bungled the Act I decision tree around the tieflings/druid grove and patch in the PC mod that causes her to flee combat at 25% health when figthiing in the grove. Tiefling genocide is still there for players so inclined but betraying her at the grove and defeating her in combat to send her humiliated back to Kethric would add even more dramatic weight to this scene and any subsequent choice to save/redeem her.
I slapped the entire goblin camp to hell and back, but left her knocked out on the floor with 1 hp. The quests progressed normally and even Halsin said "good, now that they are dead the grove is safe". I'm on my way to Moonrise Towers to see if leaving her knocked out instead of killing her is going to have any effect on being able to recruit her... I hope it does, cause i want her on my party but i don't like playing evil :(
It doesn't. Knock out counts as death for a lot of things. There is a mod you can install that should work without restarting, that will allow you to recruit her.
@@aliaros7252 You activate Non-Lethal attacks and hit her one strike at a time with non-magic attacks. I was playing swords bard so I used ranged strikes on her and she got K.O'd with 1 HP. But people here already said it doesn't matter since it counts as a kill anyway, I think if you want her on your group to romance, you attack the Grove for the extra approval and scenes, if not, just kill her.
I was planning in recruiting her in my Dark Urge run, I thought we would vibe but now that I see this I'm afraid she will be the most judgemental of all the companions if I do something evil. 😂
Edit: it's patched now can't recruit her this way. So stop kagha from doing ritual of thorns. Knock out minthra. Convince tieflings to leave before attack. Stop the raid by killing goblins. Everyone is happy and not dead minthra is recruitable in act2
That’s a bug exploit that got fixed in either patch 1 or 2. Now without the mod you cannot have both halsin or minthara alive. Additionally, if you don’t kill the three goblin leaders, the tieflings will die (via goblin attacks on the road). But if you don’t care about halsin, you can skip that whole Druid-goblin-tiefling quest and you can keep wyll and karlach and eventually recruit minthara at moonrise. It’s like a neutral “not getting involved” option. Again, tieflings will die, you just won’t get punished for killing them yourself and you can still get minny.
@@ohmyduck8101 you do slightly get punished by being unable to continue helping Karlach unfortunately :( I wish there was an option to tell tieflings to run for their lives while gobbos assault the grove
I shot the bridge when Minthara was on it for a quick end to the quest. I regret it now. She perished in the chasm! I hope she will somehow be at Moonrishe in Act 2
In my current playthrough we've got this dialogue where Ketheric is ordering Minthara's death, so we went to the prison but Minthara wasn't there. It's the second playthrough where she just disappeared
Update: I actually had zoned into act 1 after rescuing her, which made Minthara disappear. Had to then redo her escape without teleporting to another act afterwards
I am currently testing the Daughter of Lolth mod. It is said that it lets you recruit her without sacrificing any tiefliings, druids or losing Karlach and Wyll. So far it worked, she didn’t die, she just disappeared when i defeated her I’m close to entering Moonrise tower, see if she’ll be there :D
After seeing this scene a second time i relise that i forgot thorm was technically your subirdinite if you were durge and says you should kill the goblins becuse of your creative genius, because he knows you were a pire bhaalspan
I helped Mintara to kill the druids, and the cult of Absolute to kidnap the priestess, now I come to the Moon Tower, and there is no katzena with Mintara, and she is sitting in prison and repeats "I serve the Absolute" and nothing else, what should I do to recruit her?
there is a way to have her as a companion without sacrificing the grove or having party members leave. it's easy honestly. you have to go to her before you talk to any other goblin leaders. i don't know if you need to talk to her first or not (i always do) but i usually told her i know where the grove is and chose to sideteack her away from the actual grove. she would tell you to clear your mind and let you go. then, you make her temporarily hostile (i usually do this by stealing something in front of her eyes), then use non-lethal attacks on her until she knocks out (then i switch non-lethal attacks off for the goblins in her office). and then save halsin (make sure you leave him behind for now) and kill the other leaders. come back for halsin and move on to moonrise to meet with her again.
I don't think its poorly designed at all, I think its totally fair that some characters are locked behind evil acts just as karlach and will are locked behind saving the tieflings it makes sense to me that Minthara is an option for killing them. I just wished there was more evil characters the way there is for good ones like jaheira in act 2
@@JackJones-me7fr it’s not a good pay off. You lose too much to to get her. It makes it even worse when she is punished by the absolute anyways. There could have been an option for her to survive our fight then run into her again and possibly save her. Halsin being against it would make sense, but Minthara is being mind controlled here. Also we have two obviously evil characters (Astarion and lae’zel) so locking a brainwashed companion out of a good playthrough makes no sense to me.
@@Nanayahashira you have all your other playthroughs to get that lame shit you miss out on. And you never know she is brainwashed unless she doesnt die. A good guy Tav will kill Minthara like he kills the other goblin leaders. Only a bad guy tav who sides with her would spare her and learn more about her. That is not bad design. Thats a sound narrative string. You want your cake and to eat it to. Be bad if you want her or leave the teiflings to their fate and meet Minthara later. Your choice
@@TheKillaShow did I ever say spare her? She could have escaped depending on which commanders you killed or if you killed a certain amount of enemies. Retreating to moonrise after seeing such a dire situation is not implausible. This could have lead to a similar outcome with her mind being unraveled as punishment and convincing her with skill checks. Minthara was a buggy mess and half a character when the game dropped. And here you are telling me her implementation is not bad? She is not as polished as the other characters at all. I don’t think it makes sense to do a playthrough I don’t want to do (I hate evil paths) for ONE character that cuts out multiple paths and points of interaction and has content missing. That is simple math and common sense. Glad that there are people who feel the same and made a mod to alleviate my woes. I love the game, but my criticisms stand regardless.
It glitches every time I get to the last bit of dialogue. I’m so exhausted and upset. 😭 she asks for my camp and then she’s never there. I’ve reloaded and tried again about five times. Idk what else to do.
When I played as Durge i ran straight to the goblin camp with the Non-Lethal passive activated and knocked her out. After that you can continue killing anyone else, and she will reappear in Moonrise.
So i am curious on how to recruit her ...but if it involves in any way to betray or kill the tieflings then i cant do that i have heard that you can just knock her out and reunite with her in act two but i have no idea how to do that
The recent major patch made it a more hard choice to get Minthara (destroy the Tieflings) or Helsin (goody good route). Before that update there were some guys that were able to get her by doing the good route, but the game acted weird doing that. Those videos are still out there, but the update put a stop to that.
Pls help I saved he and brought her out of the tower, sent her to camp but she’s not there no matter how many times I leave camp and go back she doesn’t show up
why is minthara here ? i am new to the game and i wantet her in my team , she is not there only the goblins and in the prsion she is too not i no tkilled her , what i need to do to get her without kill th edruids ?
First this ks 4 month old it was only possible to get her in the evil way. Now since patch 5 you can have her in the good way go the goblin camp ypj can talk with her or not but not tell her not to attack the druids better is to make no missplay just attack her. You need to make her ko press passive there is ko butten do it then kill gutt and the red goblin. Then make long rest and then watch if minthara stays again there if she stays there you can find her in act 2 on this place where this video is. Or kill the tieflings and druids but you lose 2 shops also more worth the good way.
My fucking savefile got corrupted just before I got here, now EVERY fucking save is corrupted, even new ones i make. All that's left is watching it on youtube. This is really fucking frustrating
Didnt they fix corrupted saves in 1 of the last patches. Did u have any mods installed? I had corrupted saves multiple times b4 patch. -If game is crashing during loading screen to desktop you can solve it by launching game by dx 11 and resaving. *HAPPENED TO ME ONLY IN ACT 2* -If you are having error code during loading screen and being put back into game menu I think there is no way to fix the save, but it was fixed as I said. *ONLY ACT 3* And you can get to act 2 very fast anyways.
There’s a specific order you need to do the goblin camp in, plus she needs to be temporarily hostile not permanently. If you killed ragzlin before knocking her out that makes everybody permanently hostile. If you long rested before finishing the goblin leaders and halsin quest that will also bug it out because she’ll either wake up or disappear completely leaving behind her lyre after you long rest.
It doesn't work if you mauled the entire goblin camp. If she had the temporary hostile tag, maybe she'll show up but I knocked her out and cleansed the goblin camp and she is no where to be found for me
They patched in the option to recruit her as a good guy, without having to eradicate the druid grove. The catch is that you cannot speak to her before attacking her and you must knock her out. I knocked her out and looted her in hopes I could recruit her in act 2...but i made the mistake of speaking to her. Now she isn't there.
