Meet the Sunshine Kittens, a Sawtooth Star Baby Quilt!! I used part of the Whiskers Panel Print that I recently unboxed on video. I utilized fabric sent to me from Missouri Star as well as fabric I had in stash. I think the key to making this colorful quilt is to limit both your color palette and number of fabrics used.

Missouri Star Affiliate link for 20% off your purchase of $50 or more: glnk.io/mzmmj/pattymacmakes. You simply click the link which takes you right to their website. Then shop as normal. When you have $50 worth of products, the discount will come off automatically in the check out cart. Not everything is included with the discount, and I don't have any control over that. Generally the big ticket items like sewing machines and furniture is not included, but most everything else is. Including fabric and notions already on sale. Often they allow us to stack the discount onto the sale price so it really makes it worthwhile. I do explain it more in my most recent videos if you would like a visual representation to follow. Thank you soooo much!! I'm super happy about being affiliated with Missouri Star. It's making a huge difference in my life, and I'm so grateful they contacted me about it. Honestly, the sewing has been a life saver for me. It's not always easy to keep up with it, but I'm pretty determined. Making the videos are much more of a challenge with all the new foot traffic we have in here all week. That is proving to be the biggest challenge, but I'm grateful for the help.

Thank you for your RU-vid channel and sharing your Missouri star discount. I can’t seem to get it to work. I reached out to Missouri star and they said that the link may be broken. Do you know what I should do?

@@jenniferdaneker8947 You have to spend at least $50 for it to work, and some items don't qualify...though most do. The discount will show up at checkout. Make sure you have enough in your cart and then when you get to the checkout you'll see the discounts coming off with each item. I'll do a community post update on what it should look like today. I'm using the links my account manager gave me so they should work.

The fabric line is so darn cute and this quilt is darling. Orange and peach are not a favorite of mine, but now that I see your quilt, my mind has changed about it. I'll have to make one of these myself. I am on the waiting list to get the panel.

I know exactly what you mean! I would never in a million years have thought I would like them together so much. I noticed Ruby Star pairs them quite a bit, and they do sit next to each other on the color wheel which makes them analagous. I think it's about finding color harmony, and following color principles really does work. I never thought I would like orange so much! The panel is the cutest thing ever! I do have a couple of other items to show using them so stay tuned for that.

That quilt is so adorable! Thank you very much for designing it and sharing it with all of us. I did buy a FQ bundle of the fabric and a dark and a light panel, so there is a lot opportunity with various colours. I'm thinking midnight kitties for the dark panel. I greatly appreciate all your tips on colour and fabric choices as well. This is going to be a delightful project to make. Thank you very much!

I love all of those fabrics and I do have other projects coming up to show them off. This one took me a long time so I am a little behind on sharing the others. But I think it was worth the effort. I love the teal yardage you're referencing! I have something in mind using that one with the cream. It's not so much a full project as it is a block demonstration. I'm kind of excited to put it together though. I guess I could finish it out to be a table topper with the one block. Hmmm.... so many possibilities!

Very nice quilt, came out great! Love the cheery colors ❤ BTW, your camera work is, IMO, the best. The picture is clear with that lovely bokeh in the background and I especially love the color balance; skin tone is very natural and warm with true color representation as opposed to the gray/cool/unsaturated look. Between the projects, presentation and camera/lighting, it all makes for a pleasant experience when watching your videos.💃🏻

Thank you so much!!!!!! I do really try to present a nice looking presentation. I worked for years and years as a professional photographer, so I do my best on the videos. I'm still not completely comfortable having to make myself be the subject of all my pictures now, but it is necessary for having a youtube channel and to put myself on social media. I am trying something a little new-to-me with this video and people seem to be really responding well to it. If I could only sew faster, I could make more videos. LOL

I missed the live but I'm definitely going to watch it. I have a couple panels with birds that are small blocks that should work because I know you said the fabric was so popular it's hard to find. I was going to make mug rugs but I have two different panels with birds so I should be able to do both. Depends on how big the center block is and how big the birds are. Off to watch it now.

It's a small Ottlite. I also use grow lights, like for house plants, and I do have a video about using them. They really are a fantastic task light. And thank you! I'm so happy you like my bright colors!

Patty, what is the exact lamp and model number you are using near your sewing machine. I had one very similar, but it died, and I couldn't find a way to fix it. I am in the market to replace it. Any help would be much appreciated! ~Judy

Judy, it's a small OTTlite I got in Joann on a 50% off coupon. It's called Creative Curves. This is one similar but in a different color amzn.to/4aMHinS. What I really like to use for my task lighting is, believe it or not, GROW LIGHTS!! I love them for sewing and cutting, and have a video about them here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fpzVFSb-0JA.htmlsi=QukppPQFYLYDwTuT I generally use the small OTTlite in conjunction with the grow lights, but right now, all my seed starts are still indoors and the grow lights are occupied with my tomatoes and peppers.
