One of the best fn bands ever. Been listening so so long since I was about 14. I'm old now. Passed it on to my daughters though. Both of them love this tune and the band. Screaming Trees is one of our family bands.
Was lucky enough to see these guys (sans Homme) at the Rocket Club in tampa....about 1991/92 ish.....they were great. Small crowd. Lanegan was surly....just perfect.
@j He was at the height of a severe heroin addiction while on tour in Europe. The 2 days leading up to this show he had run out of dope and was going through withdrawal. The night of this show he claims to have been robbed twice (well, sold fake heroin once and robbed a second time)
I’d also add Stone Temple Pilots to your list. Glad to see Blind Melon. What an affecting singer they had, sorry I’m blanking on his name, the poor fellow who killed himself
Did you know him personally? I used to love the Screaming Trees did you know I saw them live when I was in the seventh grade at an outdoor concert in my hometown with Cracker and Matthew Sweet? It's one of the best memories in my life..The Screaming Trees played first and they were so awesome I didn't even bother to stick around for the other two bands plus it was super hot.. even at age 12 I thought cracker and Matthew Sweet we're lame isn't that awesome?? You want to know what the best part about that concert was though Julia? It's the only memory in my entire life getting stoned as shit before a concert and having zero concern whatsoever about what anybody else thought about me simply because I was too young to know that it mattered.. and now for the first time in my life I'm old enough to know that it never mattered.. whoever you kick it with is lucky I wish I could meet a hot girl that likes good music.. sorry to bother you have a wonderful evening
Earlier tonight I left a reply to your comment rip mark as you probably know since you would have been notified that I left a comment and most certainly have seen it since you left it only five days ago I just occurred to me how rude it is that you didn't even respond to me.. so I wanted to say something else my name is not rob it's Charles and I wasn't interested I'm trying to sleep with you I just wanted to rap a little bit with somebody that was into the same things I'm into even though I don't like the Screaming Trees anymore I like better music now and I think you're a b**** and if I did sleep with you you'd be the ugliest girl I ever slept with goodbye. God I hate rude people
Nice guys, met them after a gig in Grand Rapids MI at the Intersection in around 1991. Lanegan however wouldn't talk, seemed annoyed, didn't want to be there, in his own little world.
@@davidleewrath6919 ...heavy addiction'll do that to ya Been there. Hated it. Glad its over...20 yr. stint. 8yrs out. Thankfully blessed 🌼 God bless all those who need to get off any addiction. God bless those going thru the process of trying to stay out of addition. God bless those to staying off it, once they stop.
@@jb0529he first used heroin in the 80s and quit after being confronted by his then girlfriend anna. He later began using again when they went into studio to record sweet oblivion and by 97 he was homeless.
Good singer, but an ungreatful dude! He never gave the guys credit and even said that the ST days meant nothing to him. When he died he had accomplished nothing by himslef...
He did go too far about Gary Lee Conner in his book. Absolutely destroyed him you’d think he was one of the worst people to ever walk the planet the way Mark described him. Went looking for some interviews with Gary on here, from what i saw he come across a really decent guy, not saying I know his personality from a few interviews but he certainly isn’t the man Mark portrayed.
