I believe it is highly significant that Mary was the first person he appeared to after his resurrection. They weren't just running around the garden and bumped into each other. I think there is a pretty high chance that she was his wife and so she was the first person he sought out to see her and let her know that he was resurrected.

I picture that event as a very tender moment between a husband and wife. Her first impulse was to hug him and he had to forbid her at that time. There was probably more to that story than we are actually given. After he told her that he must ascend to his Father they may have had a very personal and intimate conversation.

April 14, 1927 vol 21 How Our Lord came upon earth to suffer all the evils that the human will had done. How the Word of Jesus is life. I was thinking about the Divine Will and the evil of the human will, and my beloved Jesus, all afflicted, told me: My daughter, everything I suffered in My Humanity was nothing other than all the evil that the human will had produced for the poor creature. It formed her prison, it took away from her the freedom of being able to move around within her God, in the heavenswherever she wanted. It rendered her incapable of doing good; it took light away from her, and surrounded her with thick darkness. And I came upon earth and enclosed Myself in the prison of the womb of My dear Mama; and even though that prison was holy, it cannot be denied that it was the most narrow and dark prison that could exist in the world; so much so, that I could not even stretch out a hand, or a foot. It was not given to Me to take one step, nor was there any room even to open My eyes. The human will had done all this to the creatures, and I, from the very beginning of My Conception, came to suffer this pain in order to knock down the prison of the human will, and give back to man what he had lost. I wanted to be born in a stable and suffer the most extreme poverty. The human will had formed something worse than a stable for the poor creatures, while passions had formed manure in their souls. And blowing more than wind, it had rendered them numb with intense cold, to the point of affecting their nature, not only taking terrestrial happiness away from them, but making them experience hunger and povertynot only of the soul, but also of the body. And I wanted to suffer intense cold, extreme poverty, and the stench of the manure that was in the stable; and in seeing two animals near Me, I had the sorrow that the human will had converted Our most beautiful work, Our dear jewel, Our dear Imagethe poor manalmost into a beast. There was not one pain that I suffered that did not have its origin in the human will, and I subjected Myself to everything in order to rehabilitate it once again in the Kingdom of the Supreme Fiat. Even in My Passion, I wanted to suffer being stripped in the scourging, denuded on the Cross, and stretched in such a horrible way that My bones could be counted, amid confusion, abandonment and unspeakable bitterness. All this was nothing other than the outpouring of the human will, that had stripped man of all goods, and with its poisonous breath, had covered him with confusion and opprobrium, to the point of transforming him in a horrible way, and of rendering him an object of mockery for his many enemies. Daughter, if you want to know all the evils that the human will has done, study My Life well, number My pains, one by one, and you will read the black characters of the noxious story of the human will. You will feel such horror in reading it, that you will be content with dying, rather than letting one single syllable of it enter into you. After this, Jesus kept silent, and remained all taciturn, pensive and afflicted. He looked around and far away, as if He wanted to investigate the dispositions of creatures; and not seeing them disposed, He remained in His profound silence. So, I had to go through several days of privation, as if He were no longer living in me. Then, I began to feel Him move in my interior, like rising sun; and He said to me: My daughter, whenever I speak, a life comes out of Methe greatest gift. And I must see whether there is disposition on the part of creatures, so as to place this life of Mine in them; and not seeing it, I am forced to remain silent, because there is no place in which to put this great gift. This is the reason why many times I do not speak. In fact, what regards My Divine Fiat is not only for you, but will serve other creatures; at most, It forms Its capital in you, in order to transmit it for the good of others. So, while I keep silent, you pray that the Kingdom of My Will be known, and you suffer because you see yourself without Me, your Life. To live without life is the greatest martyrdom. These pains and these prayers mature the gift, and while they make Me open My mouth to issue the new life that regards My Divine Will, they dispose creatures to receive It. These pains are more than suns rays, that mature the fields, the fruits, the flowers. Therefore, everything is necessarysilence, pains, prayersfor the decorum of the manifestations of My Will.

@@kimberlylawson8240 Brigham and his "editors" changed almost every document they could get their hands on. That is why he was furious with Emma when she would not turn over the inspired JS version of the Bible. Maybe Joseph said it, maybe not. If it was published as scripture before Joseph's murder I will trust it and if not, well not at all. That is why they hid the first vision accounts that only had one personage. That is why they removed all the doctrine of the D&C, the whole Lectures on Faith that was the doctrine of the 1844 and 1835 versions. After Joseph's death they added D&C 130 which has the trinity and the Father with a body. Yet Joseph canonized 2 Gods only and the HG as the mind or connecting power of God. He was crystal clear that God was spirit and the Son of flesh and bone. That there were only 2. Fortunately the BOM was printed in before Joseph was gone. Yet the chapter headings are wrong in a lot of cases, esp the Isaiah chapters.

@@kimberlylawson8240 The fulness had nothing to do with what we consider ordinances. It was coming into the presence of the Savior. Just as Oliver Cowdery told the apostles when called that they must then go approach God and have him tell them they were called. They never did. Joseph tried like Moses to get the people purified and ready to see the Savior and they would not. Rather than they put him down and chose a golden calf. It has always been that way with the true servants of God. They are hated and despised, run out of town on a rail or eliminated. We love our golden calf of the trinity.

A former BYU professor (Jack Marshall) gave a lecture, that I attended. where he outlined how Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus Christ. Also, Roman law was that only family members were at the cross. This explains Mary the Mother of Christ, and John the Revelator (who was a cousin to Christ, his mother was a cousin to Mary, the mother) - and Jesus knowing that John wasn’t to die, who better to take care of his mother. Also at the cross was Mary Magdalene - she wouldn’t have been there is she wasn’t a relative. And he first showed himself to Mary Magdalene after resurrection. Finally, what about Jewish law? It’s my understanding that you needed to be married before becoming a rabbi - also since Jesus was in his 30’s when starting his ministry, who’s to say that he wasn’t married?

@@gingersnaps215 I think that you are mistaken on Paul. The only basis for believing that Paul was never married is a likely misunderstanding of 1 Cor. 7:8-9. Paul, writing to the "unmarried" and widows suggests that they "remain single, as I am." Paul is writing to widows (obviously) and widowers (less obvious, I know, bear with me). During the Koine Greek era, widowers were referred to as "agamois" (except using Greek letters) -- the same word Paul uses, which could refer to unmarried men generally, but in context (paired with widowers) most likely referred specifically to widowers. I think that suggests that Paul was at least once married and had become a widower. And he may have failed to follow his own advice and gotten married again (assuming the epistles to the Corinthians were written before the epistle to the Philippians): In Philippians 4:2-3 he addresses himself to his "syzyge" (again, pretend Greek letters), which our Bible translates as "yokefellow," but was typically used to refer to a person's spouse.

Also it wouldn't make any sense for us to be required to do something that Christ himself did not do. To be honest I questioned the possibility that Christ was married to more than one. Just my thoughts!! I don't expect anyone to agree with me. In fact I expect people to start blowing up with comments telling me how wrong I am. Honestly I don't care!! I don't have to agree with anyone to believe in Christ and be a faithful covenant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Another point. The garment touched by the woman with the issue of blood was the shawl made by young women to give to the groom at the wedding. The groom would put it on and then draw the bride to him while covering her with it. That meant that he would protect and provide for her. According to old Jewish traditions, Jesus would have received that garment as part of the wedding ceremony. An unmarried man would not possess such a garment before marriage.

Like yesterday with his introduction. He let's evangelicals claim truth and honesty and call the Bible the one word of God. When an lds starts to share anything that is a claim to truth. He interrupts and directs the topic in another direction. Lds speakers are only allowed to say things within the bubble of "faith is faith, we have faith so we love people and try to be good"..... that's the amount of leash that he gives our side. The other side has a dog runner to run on, our side has a 2ft leash. @Hol0gr4m - If Christ were married He wouldn't have been allowed to fulfill the commandment to multiply and replenish, otherwise there would be hundreds of His posterity who are part Deity just as He was and therefore perfect and in no need of His Atonement. It doesn't make sense to have more than one God who lives in mortality on earth. That is not what the Church teaches. We do teach that the millions of people who couldn't marry while in mortality will have the opportunity by proxy or in person later. I believe Christ is in that category. It was not His mission to be married and have kids in mortality. It was His mission to be THE Savior and Redeemer.

My older brother believed that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. He referred to the wedding where Jesus was and supplied the wine. That’s all I can remember. He went into more depth but I don’t recall. Maybe one of you know more about that. My brother has passed on to the better place.❤

@daveduncan2748
@daveduncan2748 29 дней назад
@@brucenorth5337 No, the groom wasn't supposed to provide the wine. Jesus' conversation with His mother makes that clear. Mary says, "They have no wine." She doesn't say, "Help, we've run out of wine." To which Jesus seems to reply, that's not our problem. Mary ignores this brush off, and tells the servants, "Whatever he saith unto you, do it." Because she knows He will fix the problem for her. And Jesus fixes the problem--because his wonderful mom was trying to spare the wedding party the embarrassment or running out of wine. And, of course, it is the best wine--because ... of course it would be! How much better is this story if it is his bride's family that He and His mother are saving from embarrassment. I don't know if I'm convinced this is His wedding though. The language of the KJV makes it seem much more like they are guests, and others are running the wedding. "THEY" ran out of wine. They took the wine to "the governor of the feast." But even if that wasn't His wedding, it doesn't mean He wasn't married. I'm ok with it either way, but it seems like if Jesus had to be baptized for no reason other than to be the example of fulfilling all righteousness, then I would suspect He entered into the highest covenant, as well, that of eternal marriage.

Biblically, there is no reference to Jesus having a beard, yet virtually all pictures of Jesus portray him with a beard. Why? Because during his ministry, Jewish males wore beards. There is no argument over this in all of Christianity. Hence, couldn't the same be said of Jewish Rabbi's being married during that time? They had to be married to be a Rabbi. The Pharisees accused Jesus of heresy for healing on the Sabbath. If Jesus, a Jewish Rabbi, was NOT married, why wasn't he ridiculed by the Pharisees in the Scriptures as he was for breaking the Sabbath? Why would the 12 (we know that at least Peter was married as his mother in law is mentioned in Scripture) follow him as an Unmarried Rabbi, let alone all of his disciples? Aside from the LDS perspective, how do other Christians explain this?

Otherwise the requirement of marriage for exaltation doesn’t make any sense if the person you are trying to be like wasn’t married but was exalted. Most understand it that way. But not necessarily that Jesus was married in the ~30 years he was on Earth. Maybe for example he gets married during the millennium or in the Celestial Kingdom. I love the thought of him being married and even having children… just not sure that happened during his brief life that had so much packed into it already. I know church gossip always has the general authorities as perfect husbands … imagine having an actually perfect husband… and being a mere mortal yourself. And we don’t know how much of the divine would be inherited by a child. Any one who has gone deep into this knows Christ was married - had a wife - if not wives and had children - Rabbis are not single - have to have been married and raised a family by age 30, D&C has sections on this marriage for this life 130 - 132 - Grave with Son of Jesus the Christ - found - Jesus took care of Mother when Father David was gone, Mary his mother had other children before he Christ went to Jerusalem at age 12 - one reason she missed him - she was taking care of younger children... other non traditional scriptures talk about wives of Christ - at least 2 or 3 - Christ was never accused of not being married and not having children or marriage to be a qualified Rabbi - Christ treated woman as equals and as partners way about men of his day! if Christ fully restored all things to apostles - then - plural marriage would have been stored too and he had to teach it to his apostles - where they practiced it - is another thing! But that doesn't mean he personally didn't live it, This doesn't make him any less Godly or Divine - all things will be revealed in time! He Christ definitely had married and had children at the least!
