I own 3 Doxa subs (300T 1970, 300T 2002 and modern 300T 2019), but I'm pretty darn tempted by the v2 Seestern as a work beater + hell, £149 just for the beads of rice bracelet is a steal.

Fantastic comparison, for me the seestern is a bit more polished and well done this time round, but with both having second versions, that might be a different story.

I've just placed an order on the Tactical Frog V2. All the updates done to it looks great. Looking forward to getting it, it would be my first Sub 300T. Thanks for the comparison video.

Very Unbiased and Precise comparison. My vote goes for Tactical Frog V2.Applied markers and better proportioned hands seals the deal for me.

Seestern hands down, TF's bezel is absolutely useless. And the Seesterns band is quite a bit thicker also. But the crystal on the TF is really nice! Maybe next time you could show us the bezels in action?

Tactical frog V3 is close on to the sub 300-thinner case, flatter bracelet links and flatter rice beads, curved sapphire. Seestern closer to the Sub 300T- flat sapphire, thicker bracelet links, thicker case than the sub 300

Great review and comparison, Chris! I really like the look of the Seestern quite a bit more, but as you said, the case profile of the Tactical Frog looks like it would be way more comfortable on the wrist. Hmm... Maybe you made this more difficult! 😂 On a side note, If someone ever wrote the story of my life, I'd definitely want you to narrate it! 🍻

I've recently bought a real Doxa Sub 300T Professional but I really like the Sharkhunter and the Aquamarine too, but I'm not made of money, seriously tempted by one of these! From what I've seen on this vid, I tend to agree that the Seestern seems to be slightly superior, partly because it's got the same bezel as the Doxa rather than one saying 'Tachymeter' on it! One thing that I'm quite disappointed about with my Doxa is that I have great difficulty reading the numbers on the bezel, probably doesn't help that I'm 46 and eyesight is deteriorating along with everything else, but I doubt if many people would be able to read it in murky water no matter how good their eyesight!

I owned a Doxa 600T many years ago and I loved it, so was super excited when Seestern released these! I have to say, the Seestern homages are really superb, even more so when you consider the price! You should definitely get one and see how it compares directly to the Doxa! Thanks for the comment!👍🏻😄

Another dreich day in Scotland, eh?😉 I have the MOP Seestern v1 and I'm waiting on the v2 Frog white dial and white rubber strap. Like you I like points on both watches. As far as I can tell the only v2 difference in the Seestern is they're offering two more dials, a white and a sort of cube design. Thanks for the comparison. All the best!

Thank you.🙏🏻 I think the V2 Seestern has a few revisions, a slimmer case, lume pip bezel, but I will need to wait until it arrives before I can be any more definitive. I have both the V2 Seestern and V2 Tactical Frog on the way, so looking forward to seeing them both in person. I’ll have reviews out when they arrive.👍🏻😄

The tachymeter on the Frog's bezel is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Not only is it useless as a diving-decompressing aid but it is also worthless as a tachymeter because there is no zero-able chrono second hand to utilize with it...

I like more the bezel of Frog,why its bead blasted on Seestern?3 types of finishing is a bit much.Also I find applied indexes as more appealing than printed.Would be totally crazy if the surroundings of the indexes were high polished silver and the bezel double finished like in original Doxa🤔

The bead blasted finish on the Seestern bezel is only on the very edge of the knurled parts, it actually looks nice I think, something a bit different. I also like the combination of brushed and polished finish to the Doxa bezel, it looks fantastic, but it is a real scratch magnet for sure!

The Seesterns dial is closer to the original, both are printed, also the bezel is rather useless on the TG... but I do prefer the domed crystal on the TF 👍 might try to mod my seestern?? 🤔

Thanks for reviewing both head to head, Chris. I ordered a V2 Seestern which I believe are scheduled to ship around not (end of Oct). Do you know what V2 niggles Seestern is updating and taking care of?

Thank you 🙏🏻 As far as I know, the V2 Seestern will have a slimmer case and a lumed bezel pip. Don’t know if there will be any more revisions, but I’m looking forward to receiving it!👍🏻😄

@@seadweller44 yeah the lack of lumed pip was a bad omission. Slimmer case? I'm excited to see this thing. I ordered the teal dial. I just hope (wish) the rubber strap is colour matched to the dial, but I'm not holding my breath. Likely be black.

I think there was a small issue on date alignment, but I am not sure which model it was? I think it may have been the 62mas model.And yes, we were told it is rectified now.👍🏻😄

Tactical Frog needs to add better details like pierced lugs and stop doing things wrong like the bezel, and wow why not if you're making a Doxa copy. But I hate bead blasting on any Doxa, real dive watches like diving equipment are polished.

the problem with seestern is once they sell their 500 or whatever V1 in a month, they come out with a V2 a month later. And when they sell out on that? What a V3? I don't like having the "old" one 30 days later. A year, like Apple? Maybe. A month? Pass.

I hear what you’re saying, but I think it’s a good thing. Seestern are a new brand so their first run of the Sub 300 model probably wasn’t that big. They have listened closely to what a lot of different people have said about this model, what was good and what could be improved on, and they have actually implemented these changes into a second run or V2. That’s not to say the V1 is a bad watch, it isn’t. But I think a smaller company or brand who listens to their customers and actually changes and tweaks their product, is something to be commended.
