Seiko Divers Selection: Shogun, Samurai, SKX007, SPB053

Even after all these years my favourite watch in my collection is the Seiko Shogun. I absolutely love that watch!

Love that Samurai...it is truly an original and I love it the most. When I first saw one the crown was something I had to have. The King Samurai punch way above their weight as well. But the Blue SPB is really gorgeous...I'm hunting one still.

Nice vid, I love Seikos. My grail watch is a Tudor Pelagos, but I think you’ve just convinced me to just aspire to the Shogun! Titanium is certainly the way to go.

Seiko make the absolute best dive watches in my opinion. I have the Samurai on a metal bracelet and am awaiting the SPB053 to arrive. That blue dial looks amazing along with the polished edges on the case.

I had to sell my Shogun during a moment of financial trouble. Having flipped Sumos and Stargates and Turtles and SKXs and Monsters and SARBs without really missing them, I can say I still miss my Shogun. I put it up against an MM300 and realized I preferred the Shogun. Outside of a GS, I think it's close to being their best diver and gets you close to MM300 / GS quality and feel for a fraction of the price. With an 8L movement and sapphire, it would be perfection.

I know how you feel. It's not without it's niggles, but it looks good. And once you've worn it you realise why it is so many owners love it.

What is the cost of SBP053 black dial in stainless steel bracelet ?

I have the Samurai Padi which is stunning, one of the better looking modern day Seiko watches.

If you ordered a Strapcode bracelet for your SKX you may wear it more often. I like it most due the the 42mm size and the braclet makes me not want to take it off.

I'm not a watch expert, but I am considering the skx or samurai. I work outside so I need a tougher watch. Now that there isn't much of a price difference, which would you recommend?

Spb053 is the same size as the skx007? I have the same wrist size as you, but the spb looks bigger. Never seen it in person, so might be different

Shogun looks better than the Grand Seiko divers. I really wanted to like one of the GS divers but.. no. So going for the Shogun! 👍

Aside from grand seiko, Seiko is garbage. I've owned 6 Seiko watches under $1000 and all of them had the following problems: Misaligned chapter ring Misaligned hands (usually 4-5 min misalignment between hour and minute hands) Misalignment between minute and second hand 10-20 secs Terrible timekeeping, especially the skx007 (-40+ secs a day) Horrible stock bracelets Seiko is garbage
