I bought my self one for my 40th anniversary just before the pandemic. I'm loving it, beautiful blue, killer lume and very good timekeeping, certainly less than plus 5 seconds a day in my case. Excellent job again Rob
the 6159, which this one is based, might be one of he most brutally beautifully watches of all times. Seiko used to do a lot of One-piece cases where you release the stem form the dial side, but really don't anymore. it's very cool to see one out in the world.
Yup, that blue is gorgeous. Seiko knows how to do blue. I have the blue MM300 Tuna that is more Navy and it is just such a unique colorway. They definitely saved some truly unique blues for the MM300 line. Also, the gripe about the ratcheting clasp slipping every time you open the clasp is spot on. It really irritates me. Whatever, I can get beyond that, but then for 3k you are still getting just a cheap bracelet. When I look at my cheaper Oris and similarly priced Breitling it really bothers me. I think it is fine at the Tuna price point, but just an embarrassment at 3k. There are compromises when it comes to every watch...but I don't know, in this day and age when there is so much more emphasis placed on bracelets and comfort, I just find it unacceptable. Lovely watch though and I'd still snag one used at the right price. Thanks for the review :)
I put mine on a strapcode hexad. it wasn’t because i disliked the clasp so much more just to preserve the bracelet because i word rather the strapcode eat all the scratches. I love this watch. I am glad that seiko is releasing more SLA line watches with the 8L35. I think at this point i am done with the 6r. Not because of time keeping but because the crown movement sucks on them. The 8L is way tighter and smoother. It feels like a nice watch movement. The 6r just feels like an NH35 to me. Not that great when they put them in a $1200 prospex watch. I will definitely be buying another SLA watch in the future.
Man I love the look of this watch, I almost pulled the trigger when it was on flippers paradise, I feel the need to try it on wrist before spending over 2k though.
I have the LE green, I changed the clasp to the same clasp that is Ti and Steel and it operates great it does not engage like you showed. Mine is +1 a day I would probably keep this watch if I had to get rid of everything else I have.
Thanks for the great review. I've had mine for 6 weeks. I love the aggressive hero look, the amazing lume, the good comfort, & the accurate movement. Not sure, though, where to send it to when I need a service.
I've read awhile ago that even the MM300's dial is stamped. Might be true for older models, but I can't quite verify as I can't find tear downs of the SBDX025.
Yeah that’s not great is it- I think I’d probably get it regulated. Even if I had to pay and lose it for a month- double figures is a bit too much for me, but I think you were just unlucky as it’s unusual from what I can see.
