Seiko SKX007 and SKX009 Watch Review and Comparison- The Best Affordable Dive Watch? 

Hi Bruce I have the 007 and 009 and simply love mine and enjoy having a Collection of various Seiko Watch's . Really enjoy your down to earth reviews.

I've owned a SKX007K model for about 6 months and I absolutely love it. Right out of the box the accuracy was unbelievable for the price at about 2 sec/day. I change it up all the time with various different NATO and leather straps so it's like constantly having a new watch on the wrist, all for $150 bucks !!

I just ordered the one with the bracelet for use as everyday wear to retire my Oris Aquis Date. Awesome review bro.

I'm wearing my SKX007 while watching this video, a great little watch. I love Seiko even with some swiss watches in my collection.

Of all the Seiko watches I’ve owned so far the SKX007 on a Super 3D Oyster strap has been my favourite.

I have owned an SKX009 for almost a year now and have to say I am blown away by the quality you get for the money you pay; the size is perfect for any size wrist, it looks fantastic, keeps great time (about +3 seconds a day for me) and is just fantastic overall. The only thing that would have been nice was solid end links, but I wear mine on a nato strap all the time now anyway. If anyone is thinking of getting one but isn't sure, just buy it because you won't regret it.

You are right my friend, you cannot buy a better dive watch or watch for that matter for the money. I just purchased a 007 with a rubber strap last December and up until now it has been working great. I am really considering purchasing a 009.

Fantastic review bro! This a very versatile watch to wear dress up and down. You can never go wrong with a seiko and on top of it, the price is unbeatable!!!

I got the SKX009 and it's one of my fav watches. I am getting the jubilee bracelet swapped with the oyster style one. I wear my Seiko more often than my Tag Heuer Formula 1 and Tissot PRC200.

Super review im looking at several Seiko's I have always had Tags and own a Movado but today its too much, I just cant believe for the $$$ that you can get a named brand that's really good. So just to clarify the SKX007 that comes already with the jubilee band, you don't recommend that band ? One other thing I would love to get one of the Seiko's with a functional compass. i dont see anything wrong with the stock bracelet. its comfortable. i have the 007 and love it. sure wish it had hacking though. mine is about 11 or 12 sec fast per day. i just wait 5 days and move the min hand back 1 and back in action. i love the watch. the lume is better than about any other watch i have. if u added hacking and manual wind to the skx, you'd have a really amazing watch. i LOVE the fit of this watch. have a 7 1/4 wrist like you also. fits great.

I have the 011, orange dial. My wrist is the same as yours but it looks small on me. Must be the colour. Plus I’m used to wearing Tunas and Samurai.

I have the 009 and this is my first Seiko. I am continually amazed of the quality of this watch, and so much so that since I unboxed it 6 months it has not left my wrist. I wear a more expensive watch for business meetings, but just for show (and being shallow). The Seiko keeps better time and adjusting the date for 30 day months is easier given the quality of the crown adjustment. I was considering a Squale or Oris as my next diver, but since being turned on to Seiko divers, I just cannot pass up the VALUE, so therefore I will either get the 007 to complement the 009 or better yet, the Sumo (Blumo). I got the jubliee version and I like the bracelet, but I also wear this watch to the gym, so I put on the rubber version (Seiko) to keep the look and quality. I even wear it to bed b/c I don't notice the weight, and it not a light weight watch...it has heft without being a boat anchor. Also, I wear this watch when doing projects around the house, and after 6 months not a scratch even on the case. Dollar for dollar best watch investment you can make. Men who are confident about their wealth and success don't need a Rolex or Omega to show it...those are the rich guy wannabees.

very nice the skx007 but I personally prefer the skx013, more chunky. saying that I prefer the gen 1 monster even more as it's a unique look. you'll never confuse the monster with any other watch. cheers

BRUCE I am a massive SKX Fan.. I have bought 6 maybe 7 of these . However never for their Glory in original form. They are donor watches for me. For Awesome modification...Options The stock movement is outdated... But the case and bezel are the best... But they will always be cult favorites... P.S. Have about 7 7S36 Movements lying about if anyone needs them ?? Minus the day wheels..Lol

Not going to lie, I just got this delivered yesterday and I love it. I have the padi turtle and held out on this because I felt they were the same... totally different! The jubilee bracelets isthe cheapest but also the most comfortable which is kinda funny. Do you know how to sync the time? I know it doesn't hack but I thought you could Apply backward pressure and stop the second hand

I was very sad with my skx007, allways have been problems with accuracy, that any watch master couldn´t solve it. In seiko they told me that it is normally discipation +- 45-60 seconds.

Question. my Seiko KX007J came with Seiko certificate of guarantee card, but only had the ( date and Sold by ) filled, can i fill the ( Serial No and Case No by hand ) ?

Hmm those strapcode ones shouldn't fit wrong like that. Mine were so tight, I can hardly get them off. I think you might have a reason to exchange it. That must be for a different watch Strapcode KNOWS 007s.

I like the SKX007 and the Seiko 5 Sports SNZH57. What do you think is better? This has the 7S26 and the SNZH has the 23 jewels 7S36. I already have 2 seiko 5 21 Jewels. Should I just go for the 23 jewels or this SKX007 that everyone has been talking about???

Id rather to buy Citizen NY 00400 - i think that movement in Citizen is more accurate (i got both watches), i like the besel more. And dial is not painted - index markings are glued onto the dial.

I like rubber straps when designed well, but this design just doesn't grab me. It comes off to me looking cheap.

i think many online retailers have stop selling them. since the arrival of the turtles. but honestly, i still love the Skx. No other beater could replace it not the turtles. Just not for me.

I recently bought an SKX013 as a beater (the 007 is too big for my 6.5 inch wrists). For some reason the finishing on the 013, especially around the lugs, is more refined than the 007. In any case, both are amazing value for money. You'd never know they only cost €250.

What is a fair price for these watches?

One very annoying feature about these watches are that you can't manually wind them up so they are ready for the next day. Because the power reserve is low, it will wind down quickly and then you have to reset the time day and date constantly. I sold mine because I was tired of resetting it after a day of none use.

I had the rubber strap and it broke after a year. In my opinion the nato straps look to cheap and budjet camper style. I bought the seiko jubilee bracelet and it transformed the watch into a shimmering more expensive looking gem. Granted the jubilee bracelets are always going to be a retro 70s slinky look .......but who cares it matches the finish of the casing.
