Just Stumbled upon this video. Jerry, best exercises for the Atlas I've seen. I have been to an Upper Cervical Chiro, for over 20 sessions a few years ago. It was worthless and waste of mo ney. It was nothing like This !! That UCC solely applied very gentle "pushes " on the Atlas while I layed on one side then the other - lasted about 5 minutes. All it did was leave me slightly Lightheaded and also was seeing "floaters" in my eyes. Floaters are sinus related. I've come to learn after many years of Personal research (bC doctors tell you Nothing except take meds), that Cervical Instabilities is the Root To All Evil in the Body!!. Atlas and Axis vertebrea can affect the Vagus Nerve which is the largest Cranial Nerve in the Body coming from the Brain Stem , Thru the Atlas / Axis joints and connecting all the Vital organs in the Body via the central Nervous system . I have discovered that Cervical Instabilities affects : TMJ, Sinuses, ear / eye painas it affects the Occipital Muscles, IBS/GERD, and Bladder /Bowl Incontinence!! Even the Diaphragm and heart /Lungs !! I am a Sufferer of various Spinal maladies including sites of Stenosis, DDD throughout, Facet Joint arthritis, disc bulges and Dextroscoliosis of 25 Degrees which IMO a direct result of having a 1 inch Shorter right leg for over 55 years . I'm 70 and fractured my right Femur playing HS Football in 1966. After the Bodyb cast came off, my right leg was 1 inch short and was left unaddressed by the Doctor and my parents until about 15 yeasr ago when i stated to have my right shoe orthopedially corrected with lifts. alas, too late, because the shorter leg wreaked havoc with the spine, and the Hips. Chronic pain / Chronic stiffness is Hell On Earth !! i continue to seek relief and / or "cures" of the constant Temporal headaches and all the other maladies mentioned above. THX for this Dr. jerry. Keep them coming....

Did you treat him first before showing him how to do this ? Can this help if my atlas is left, rotated and tipped (left side lower)? I also feel like a bone is stabbing me deep I think it’s c2 no matter what I do I can’t fix it I can’t get my fingers in that deep. This rotated my occiput to the right.

Are the excercises for stabilizaing an overextended Atlas or for mobility in a stiff Atlas ?
@JerryHeschInstitute
@JerryHeschInstitute 3 года назад
Of course follow guidance of your healthcare practitioner. The atlas can respond to distal movement restrictions such as foot and ankle, hip, pelvis such that whole body screen relevant. Please see video Hesch Upper Cervical Exercises. Isometrics in slight flexion and chin tucks helpful for hyperextension. If pathologically unstable neurosurgical consult relevant again, follow guidance of your healthcare practitioners.

What would you suspect is the Clunking noise (around C0/1/2 right side facet)? It sounds like bone / joint separating and clunking back together once muscles are tensed up. This also happens when C2 is push up with the foam roll while flat. (Relax / Tense = clunck) Problem is any xray or mri is never done with said "dislocated feeling" But I did capture it on DMX. I have the link in my RU-vid (2018 @ the end, you'll see the Supine over Denneroll)

Sir How long does scoliosis develop after atlas subluxation and what is the chance of scoliosis?

I am not aware of that I think it is just theoretical.

My atlas is rotated to the right (you can feel the bulge on the right side). Can the atlas be placed in a normal position with these exercises?
@JerryHeschInstitute
@JerryHeschInstitute 4 года назад
The technique I demonstrate is not for a rotated atlas, I do not know if it will correct a rotated atlas.
@JerryHeschInstitute
@JerryHeschInstitute 4 года назад
yes for many this rx works but for some rotational treatment helpful, I do not have video of that but there are already many videos such as on muscle energy treatment for rotation of atlas. it is a muscle pattern not a "bone out of place"

@@JerryHeschInstitute Thanks for the answers. I have noticed that there are videos about the rotation of the atlas, but it is not clear to me what it means, for example, "exercise for left rotation", does it mean that the exercise rotates the atlas counterclockwise or is it an exercise for an atlas already rotated in left? My atlas is slightly rotated clockwise.

please stop telling people to self adjust their atlas. One wrong move can cause serious damages to someone’s health. If anyone suspects atlas issues please visit an upper cervical chiropractor.
@JerryHeschInstitute
@JerryHeschInstitute 3 года назад
Upper cervical chiropractors do sideways “adjustments” but do not evaluate nor treat flexion or extension as is shown in the video. I tried NUCCA and a lateral air hammer was very ineffective. Kindly read the disclaimer. Knowledge is power. Sharing this information with their healthcare practitioner particularly an orthopedic manual physical therapist can lead to effective short term care and oftentimes resolves the issue. I invite chiropractors to learn this approach. Tell me, what are the costs and average number of visits for upper cervical chiropractor care?

I resolved my own upper cervical issue with this method.

If you have some literature regarding patients injuring themselves treating their atlas please share. I find nothing on www.pubmed.com

@@JerryHeschInstitute Not everyone has the same type of misalignment and therefore only a professionally should asses and realign ones atlas after viewing X-rays. You mean to tell me the bone that sits at the most important neurological gateway and is the most prone to instability should be simply self adjusted from a 10min youtube tutorial? Yeah kindly stfu....
@JerryHeschInstitute

@@breakfastfordinner2890 Chiropractors do not cannot evaluate micomotion dysfunction of the occipitoatlantal nor the atlantoaxial joint via radiographs. Take a look at the article on inter tester reliability of reading radiographs in the chiropractic J of Manip Physical There. Measurement error can be significant and inter-tester poor. A comprehensive evaluation alerts the clinician to cases that are of significant pathology such that manual care may be contraindicated. And HVLA. to this region of the body? Absolutely unnecessary. You have a belief that this is an area that has a high amount of hyper mobility. Do you have some research data to support that perspective? No thank you on your request that I "kindly stfu" kindly? Strange phraseology! Does that represent how both of your parents raised you to interact with someone with whom you disagree or dos that represent your professional education?
