It did take quite a while from the first impression to the longterm review. I got overwhelmed by barefoot shoes. ha!

The best ones I owe until now. The only thing that I don't like from them, is that they are not anymore available, because I would buy another pair just for the case. I don't want to miss them
@AndrewFolts

Don't worry, they were super popular, so I'm sure Vivo will restock again, like they did after the initial launch.

Still waiting for the lux ra and Gobi review
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
I probably won't be reviewing them, I just have too many shoes lined up and dress apparel is kind of outside my niche. If you like them, then just give one a try, since you can always return it if something's wrong. The Ra will be more flexible and better for hotter weather and the Gobi a bit more structured and ideal for cooler/colder weather, but either would be a great everyday shoe if you want a high-end vibe.

I have some of these and the inside stitching around the base of my big toe rubbed and I got an open wound there. I had to sand down the rough stitching on the inside fix that. Also my feet slip ever so slightly and over time irritates the bottom of my foot. I have not yet solved that issue. With socks I have none of these issues but I would prefer to be able to wear them bare foot.
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
Bummer, mine have been fine, but it is common for stitched shoes to sometimes rub people in the wrong place. Are yours too long or something? Mine seem to fit like a glove. Usually a half to full thumbnail's space at the end is ideal. You could get one of those no-show socks, or perhaps put a very thin insole with some texture on the bottom to prevent slipping.
@scottfrasersmith
@scottfrasersmith 23 дня назад
After posting the above I tried tying them more tightly and it seems to help with slippage. The fit seems good. I really want these shoes to work as they have so many positive qualities.

My concern with how thin it is would be that I usually wear down shoes within a month. Though at some point I’d like a similar pair.
@eliefeinstein6182
@eliefeinstein6182 23 дня назад
FWIW, I’ve worn the sensus almost daily on concrete for more than two months and haven’t seen any sign of wear. On average, I walk a few miles a day. I haven’t run in them, though.
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
My original Primus Lite's also had a 3mm sole and are still going after seven years and 4,000+ miles. The Sensus does have a somewhat softer rubber, which is more geared towards casual, but as long as you don't twist or scuff the sole, there's no reason why it wouldn't last multiple years.

Hi Andrew, if you need o pick one between the ababa and the sensus which one you pick?
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 8 дней назад
If you need a shoe for long walks and casual training/running, go with the Sensus. If you need a casual shoe that can also work as a slipper (but not training), then go with the Ababa.

@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
Yea, premium shoes premium price, as usual, ha. One thing in their favor is that they can cover both casual and training, which might save you buying two shoes. But lots of other good options out there too.

@@AndrewFolts I do have enough pairs already, but thats definetly the next one im buying. I have a leather variant of the Primus lite which has similar features.

@@seryugon4201 If you don't need the shoes for training and you're more into the style of them, the Sensus looks to me like a lightweight Addis, which can be found on Revivo for a very low price. Mine have been great!

@AndrewFolts

The leather is actually quite water-resistant, especially if you treat it with a leather protector. Wouldn't go in deep puddles, but it can handle some wet grass.

I've had my eyes on these for a while! Love all the styles Vivo puts out. How's the sizing? I recently bought the Primus lite knits and had to size down (too long). The size 10 fits like a glove, but I'm hoping it stretches a teeny bit.
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
They run true to size (slightly more snug than the Knit's), although the flat stitching makes them tighter vertically at the front. That said, the leather's very stretchy, so it shouldn't be an issue for most people, unless you have super high arches. 11 might work better for the Sensus if the Knit 10 is quite snug on you. My feet are 10.5 in and the 11 is perfect for me.
@LandonWilsonArtist
@LandonWilsonArtist 21 день назад
@AndrewFolts Thanks for the reply! I have high-volume feet, so I'll go with the 11 when/if I buy. The leather in my Magna FGs (sz 11) has stretched a bit, too, so the mid-foot is not a problem anymore.

Hi, the sensus has a 3mm sole and the Primus Lite Knit has a 2mm sole. Dose the sensus and primus lite knit feel any different?
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
The Primus Lite Knit has a 4mm sole and the Sensus is 3mm. But yea, there's a significant increase in texture with the Sensus, although the difference isn't huge.

Would you run 10k in those? I’ve never tried these zero drop shoes but I’m thinking about going for it. I do quite a bit of running on curved treadmills. And am probably going to start training trail/track distance running
@AndrewFolts
@AndrewFolts 23 дня назад
Yea! They're amazing for running. I do think they've got a bit softer rubber than the Primus Lite series, so I'd expect maybe 2,000-3,000 vs 3,000+ miles. Just make sure not to twist or scuff the sole and it'll last a long time.
@antwalsh
@antwalsh 21 день назад
If you've never run or even walked with a zero drop shoe, then I'd advise using a lot of caution when starting with them. You may currently be able to run 10km with your current shoes, but if you just swapped those shoes out for these and continued as per normal, you are asking for trouble. Firstly your calf muscles will be on fire for a few days after your first run, and if you continue with long distance runs, then I'd fear for your achilles as well. There are a few guides for transitioning to these shoes out there, but just start slowly and you'll get to be able to run marathons in these.

@@antwalsh good to know. I didn’t order any yet. There is so many to choose from and I’m not sure what to get
@antwalsh
@antwalsh 21 день назад
@@dustinvanravenswaay9960 yeah, there are a lot. Andrew here has plenty of reviews of various ones that should be able to guide you. In my opinion a wide toe box is more important than zero drop, so if you are currently wearing something that has a high heel drop, you don't necessarily have to come down to zero in your next pair. Maybe get something that is nearly zero and transition that way.
