** Follow these instructions at your own risk **
It took the better part of the day to set this up but boy oh boy is it worth it. With GT4's underbody being all covered in plastic panels (for extra down force) and the low ride height, I convinced myself to get QuickJack for the 3 cars that I own and maintain. Follow me along through the setup process and tune in for future videos as I use it for various upgrades and maintenance projects.

Nice setup video! These types of videos are always better than paper instructions with still shots!! I need to swing by and check this out

yeah you should bring the type R over for some work

Thank you for the video. I'm awaiting delivery of my 718 in a couple weeks and wanted to take advantage of the deal on Costco for this with a set of the SUV pads for the wife's Macan. Came here to see if it fit and I see it does.
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 Год назад
congrats!! I also have the suv extensions. They should work just fine for macan but unfortunately they are still bit short for my cayenne.

So, 2 years later. How do you like them and do you think it was worth it? I'm considering a set.

Great video! I have a 2021 718 Spyder. Did you find the low clearance extremely difficult to get the jack underneath, or was it more just annoying? Thanks!
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 Год назад
the jack itself gets under no problem.. the issue was the platic bricks.. the taller bricks dont clear but the shorter ones do.. i was planning to lower the car further but seems like i cant bc of this.. its been over a year of ownership and i cant imagine living without quickjack.. very reliable and makes all kinds of projects easy to do
@robertm1692

@@blendlinegarage42 Lower the car. You can drive onto some short (maybe 8 inches) pieces of 2x4 to lift the car up enough to get the QJ under it.

@@robertm1692 yep - this is the way.

Good video but you don’t need the tape around the threads. The red bottle the kit provides of pipe sealant is sufficient to seal the threads.

what is the air cylinder for? I get the ATF for the hydraulic lift cylinder, but what function does the air cylinder serve? is it like a hood support piston, to soften the drop when the car is lowered?
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 Год назад
exactly that, softens the drop when ATF is vaccumed out of the lines

How do you rate your long-term impression on the lift now? I am a fellow Porsche owner. Thanks
@blendlinegarage42

the only problem was removing some of the underbody panels on GT4 bc of close vicinity to the jack area...otherwise it is a great jack

Did you ppf your python green? If so did it change the look of the paint at all? Thanks
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 2 года назад
I did.. front facia, rear bumper and the rocker panels.. you cannot tell the difference in color unless you go with the matte ppf. I def suggest ppf specially on this car, the rocker panels collect a lot of loose stones.
@BrianShaw23
@BrianShaw23 2 года назад
@@blendlinegarage42 Thanks, I just received my Cayman GTS 4.0 in Python Green, AMAZING color. Had the dealer ppf and ceramic coat it before dropping it off. I am probably going JCR valved silenced exhaust too, I understand your GT4 lost some power but I just love the way the exhaust sounds! I'm going to get a silenced OAP to go with it though, so that should improve flow quite a bit and add power.
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 2 года назад
@@BrianShaw23 Congrats!! Yes JCR def sounds amazing! the best in the market I'd say. Glad you are going with silenced version because the non-silenced gets very droney with OAP. It'd be interesting if you could do a before/after dyno to see the gains. I am also planning on installing Akro OAP in near future.
@BrianShaw23
@BrianShaw23 2 года назад
@@blendlinegarage42 I will definitely try, hopefully the place I am taking it has a dyno. They are a performance shop so good chance they do. JCR has a titanium silenced OAP in development so waiting on that. It should pair well with their exhaust mufflers! Goal is more power and better sound without making the car too loud.

I bought the same set as you and was wondering while you are letting it down and you decided to stop mid way dose it continue to go down even though you let go of the down button?
@TheKoolaidekidd
@TheKoolaidekidd 3 года назад
It has a bump that stops it. So you lift past that bump/lock then lower it so it locks in place. To lower completely you lift slightly then reverse the latch so it will go past the safety lock.
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 3 года назад
basically stops on the dime when you let go of the down button. If your is doing something else, there maybe a leak somewhere?
@ffrcobra1
@ffrcobra1 3 года назад
So I called Tech Support and they said the problem I am experiencing is normal. So be careful while letting it down it could continue to drop even though you released the button. I was amazed at there response.
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 3 года назад
@@ffrcobra1 that's odd. If I were you I would try bleeding the system again.
@fattysgarage1754
@fattysgarage1754 Год назад
@@ffrcobra1 This is absolutely not normal. If that was the case, you would have to run around and lift both stops before it would catch the stops again. Potentially one side locked and the other going down. There is a video of this happening to another RU-vidr scaring him badly. It should stop on a dime like blendline garage stated.
@salangchoi02

Do you have an ideas if we can put some sorts of the second support just in case?
@TheKoolaidekidd
@TheKoolaidekidd 3 года назад
I have one and I put jack stands under the quick jack at strategic locations at the front and back just in case. I just use two jack stands, one in front and one in back.
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 3 года назад
I do just what @thekoolaidekidd said. There are two physical stop points in the jack where it is no longer using hydraulic fluids to support the weight. Those should not fail.
@robertm1692

QJ did a test with these are it supported over 20K pounds without blinking an eye. Check out their RU-vid video series. Put something else as a backup but rest assured these are over engineered.

Do you wish you had got the QJ 5000? I have a 2019 Dodge scat pack, but I think your car is lower to the ground that my vehicle. Do you know how many inches off the ground your vehicle is?
@blendlinegarage42
@blendlinegarage42 2 года назад
I like the 7000 better because I can use it to lift my SUVs.. the car is 4.5 inches off the ground.. the QJ has about 4 inches of profile (with the thinnest pad), so have just about 0.5 inch clearance to get the jack under the car.
