Sex & the Watchtower- Episode #20 - The Masturbation Special 

This is GREAT! I'm So glad that the Watchtower is SO bizarre and obsessed on this subject. This is what woke me up from the 'Twoof'. I was in a Watchtower study lesson in the kingdom hell one Sunday in the mid-1980s and the lesson just seemed to go on and on about masturbation and I remember, vividly, thinking, "None of this is in the bible. They're just making this up because this is something they don't like. There is no other reason and there's really nothing wrong with this because it doesn't hurt anybody." Later that day, I called up my jw elder father and told him, "I'm beginning to have doubts." My life took a different turn from then on.

I've always said that if the watchtower spent less time teaching others to not touch themselves, and more time in preventing grown adults from touching children, then they'd be better off all around.

This is so creative and funny. When this is approached from any other way it is just sad and tramatic. The older women in my family were hostile towards tent preachers and when the tent went up 2 houses down we were forbidden from them. The stories told by neighbor girls on the school bus made my sister and I curious and jealous. They got to see snakes , hear them talking in tounges we were upset by this missed opportunity. The tent would come down the neighbor sisters would have nothing to whisper on the school bus about. Maybe mom will change her mind, there's next year. The world has changed , my grandchildren know nothing of the mysteries of the tent.

I remember my mom's last attempt at trying to make me have a bible study. I was 20 and on my way out of the JWs (I never got baptized, luckily). She makes me sit down and, with my sister sitting at the table, asks me "Do you get sexual urges? And do you masturbate??".....I was so mortified, I locked myself in my room for the rest of the night.

I am aghast at how much detailed stuff was and is aired in front of the youngest at the KH. I was so unaware as a teen. I recall coming home with a school letter for parental permission to be shown the 'video', mum said 'they can explain it better than I can' and neither parent ever said anymore on the subject until after I was an adult when mum, me and sisters were talking just before my sister's wedding, and then only obliquely. That video was basically the girls' puberty journey, girls only saw girls video and boys the boys video. With dad the only male in the house I had no idea about nocturnal emissions, or that males need to offload semen build up. I was so embarrassed when my first period started when I was home with just my dad (at least I knew where my sister stored her products). I was in my 20s before exploring my own body, but frankly I had a lack of 'urges' anyway, now I can say I am effectively asexual but no language when younger, I forced myself to 'have crushes' at high school but really it was based on friendship yearnings not anything bodily. I had no concept of what any process of self exploration might even involve. And even after it is not something I feel the need for. Assuming my older sisters had the same limited awareness and family lack of conversation, I wonder how the eldest (and only one married and so only one assumed to have had sex) coped with two sons, now in 20s. I just hope their dad was more use to them .

The “doggy style” is one of the favorite sex positions of couples in most countries. In the animal world, this natural practice is the most widespread. It is very surprising that this animal practice is found among the preferred positions of humans. What do JWs think of this position? If the man comes from the animal then everything becomes perfectly coherent and logical. But if the man is from God, then there is a big problem.

I started masturbation at the age of 5. From teenage to 30 years old I tried to quit the habit so so many times and it brought so much guilt and shame during all those years. I even questioned several times if I'm gonna get to paradise because of this. From the age of ~11 to 29 (18 years) I never managed quit it no matter what articles, elder meetings or techniques I tried The longest I was without doing it was 16 days that's my all time record. I've come to a firm conclusion that if God is out there, masturbation is rather gift to all human kind, especially to all singles, widows, disabled people and couples whos spouces are away physically for some reason. I think humans has just weaponized sexuality and masturbation as a tool to oppress and control people. When members feel guilt from braking the rules of their group and they know it's "their fault" then one leans towards contributing more to reconciliate what they have done, and the cycle repeats.... During my 1 year + out of the cult I've definitely been able to get rid of some of that guilt, but its not yet complitely gone but I'm getting there!

I'm HAPPILY DF over 25+ yrs, married my childhood sweetheart 2 yrs ago who is also DF but trying to get reinstated. 4xs now they have rejected him .... guess that's what happens when you beat up the elder who was screwing your wife! SMH, yet he still continues to try. I love this man with all my heart and soul and it absolutely breaks my heart how indoctrinated he is and how anything that is negative against the JW is just an apostate lie. His family was always a "on the fence" kinda family, and in my opinion he still is riding that fence, but just can't seem to shake the cult mentality. It does cause alot of division between us and I'm at the point where I feel the relationship is almost superficial. It's hard to say the least to have a conversation about anything relevant because in his head nothing really matters because Armageddon is soon and he happily is anticipating it. I've about given up trying to talk about it at all as his words to me about it were "leave it alone or leave me alone" yep, that meant stfu about it or kick rocks....it's beyond devastating and makes me physically ill sometimes. He's a good man and seriously one of the smartest I know but stupidest I've ever met in critical thinking. It really blows my mind and saddens me greatly. I don't wanna give up, but I also don't want to deal with a superficial relationship with no real communication. I've tried to tell him the root causes of his inability to communicate lies with his indoctrination of stfu and do as we say but of course he refuses to see it. Also refuses to even try counseling. I could write a book I swear....lol, but I'll cut it short here. Thanks for "listening"
