@@ill-advised8503 Though the phrase 'You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take' is often overused, it underscores the importance of assessing risks to oneself and others. During my ongoing service in the army, I've learned that every challenge I encounter reveals my true capabilities, especially when I have no other option. Ultimately, selection is about proving whether others can rely on you to accomplish any task.

Because that’s not the purpose of this unit. Why be regular infantry if you can be a Ranger? Why go to dive school if you can be a SEAL? Why be a medic if you can be a surgeon? People like you make no sense and just hate cause you’re doing nothing of importance in your career.

@@zaab-yaoh9302 if you do your homework and look up the historical importance or special forces and what they do. You do know they army already had advisor before rhe creation of SFAB. You do know what Green Berets do right, infiltrate, train, and advise and provide aid to oppressed communities within hostile nations to uprise agaisnt oppressive governments. You do know that during the Afghanistan and Iraq war big Army had CIA advisors and military advisors nothing special. All they did with SFAB is reduce the size of forces needed to sustain propping up a newly formed government or advise on other things like running decon tests or medical aid stations. The same shit SF does but with lesser qualified individuals. Truth hurts buts its reality. Rank is there for reason and if im part of an oppressed group the last thing I want to see is a young specialist telling my village how to train or fight when they barely have the concept of war, oppression, genocide and politics. They are using SFAB in the way SF is used without proper training or providing additional forces incase shit its the fan. Research before you open you fat cow mouth and don't assume people hate..I did 12 year 11 bravo and 74 delta I know a thing or two how military runs and since you assume I'm doing nothing you can join me in training for my Green Beret. See one thing you fail yo realize is just cause someone isn't in the service doesn't make them less of important than me or anyone. There is alot of people out there feel the same way or may have certain ideologies but doesn't mean they're wasting life just cause they called out something. You want more hurt feelings here ones for you. Did you know that females who have passed SOF training like SWCC, rangers, marsoc, recon, pj and sfas have had alternative events given in order to pass. Did you know that during 2021 and now the military has changed focus from a fighting forces to an inclusive focus with DEI components that offer equal outcome instead of equal opportunity and focus on pronouns and white rage. Because they're not SF and this is a money waster and elimates opportunity to deploy and can be dangerous at times. When we were Iraq and Afghanistan we had infantry units with supports like transpo coms and quartermaster and more. This is basically reducing force numbers in a hostile area. You do know its not an mos but a position you try for. SFAB consist people from all mos in efforts to elimate need for larger forces. Think of it this way SFAB in place of what Delta and 75th rangers did im Mogadishu so you have even cooks and supply personnel doing combat arms shit with the help of a few infantrymen that made it pass 3 days of sfab tryouts. Theres a disdain because it potentially even more dangerous then having a small oda train local population to fight oppressors. For you to also devalue for what infantryman do is hating as well. Infantrymen do more than SFAB any day of the week my friend. Shit decontamination units do more.

@@JG-yc2fr SF are trained to HALO jump into a jungle and fight their way to a resistance force to embed with them and train them for months to take down a government. Let them do that. SFAB take commercial flights to the Philippines and cross train in a relatively safe environment with local army. Don’t tell me it’s a waste of money, if anything it saves money why wtf would you send tier 1 units to non hostile zones to do what SFAB can do? Obviously people in charge don’t agree with your sentiment, but that’s ok. Any idiot can pass the asvab with a 31 and deploy as an infantryman and be bossed around by an e-5. , if you feel offended by that change your tampon. SFAB soldiers are senior officers and NCOs with skill sets to operate independently. That’s fact. Mogadishu was 30 years ago, Iraq and Afghanistan is basically over with. SFAB has their purpose.

SFAB take commercial flights to the Philippines and the Horn of Africa to train local armies in a relatively safe environment. Don’t tell me it’s a waste of money cause that’s a crock of BS. Sending a tier 1 unit to do what SFAB can do makes no sense and people who have more experience than you have decided as much. As far as my infantry comments, what is there to be said? Any idiot can pass the asvab with a 31 and be bossed around by a buck sergeant. SFAB soldiers are selected senior officers and NCOs who have the capability to operate independently to train and assist. The people complaining are offended because they feel insecure. I’m not SFAB and I haven’t been in the army in 6 years, but it’s obvious people are projecting.

@@JG-yc2fr Bruv, the training role of the SFAB and the SFG are entirely different. The SFAB trains conventional allied forces with a 12 man team, with an advisor for most of warfighting functions. An ODA is also 12 people that train nonconventional forces... Rebels, Insurgencies, and the like... They both are 12 person teams training different kinds of people. Not sure how it's any more dangerous than just an ODA out there with the local populace when the SFAB is with the host nation's standing military... Two different mission sets, mate... be mad, I guess. I used to clown the SFABs too until I learned what they actually are supposed to do. Sure takes a potential mission away from an ODA but the ODA is already a work horse that has multiple mission sets already.

I worked logistics bro and its a way to get big army more compact but with less training and individual which can cause an issue like that of bengahzi or shit that happened at outpost Keating difference SF is trained for that environment. Made that its a waste of funds like dei and surgical procedures for sex change. They do that exact same as sf doesn't always train unconventional forces and they've also trained conventional forces. Did 12 years in service and contractors for operational troop movement. Its a way of saving money but at risk life due to minimal training.

The job of SFAB is not to replace Green Berets otherwise there would be a need for Green Berets. Green Berets train more specialized Foreign Militaries and Militias. SFAB Trains and Advises Foreign Conventional Forces and other task. Both roles are extremely important.
