Really cuts down on miscommunications when pointing out errors in arguments or asking for clarification on what was said. It also really makes imaginary friend havers real mad 🤣
I actually liked Shad when he was only talking about swords and armor and medieval stuff. He seemed like a humble, normal guy. I guess you can never know how f****d up someone is until they make a second channel

The funny thing about invoking Conan is that the Conan in Howard's novels dressed closer to a Roman soldier. The mostly naked, power fantasy for the character was invented for the Conan the Barbarian movie. My guess is that it was made that way because Arnold's physique at the time was what sold.
Actually John Milius (director) very much followed Frank Frazetta's paintings. He was expert on painting muscular men and women in skimpy clothing with oil-glistening detail. He did not invent Conan as chiseled mountain of bulging muscles.

The petty tyrant situation Shad has going on with his podcast is genuinely uncomfortable to watch. Skim Milk and Fluffy are, really obviously, just people Shad pays to be both yes-men and punching bags to stand in for his detractors. It's so goddamn weird to watch someone doing this while being blissfully unaware of just how much it broadcasts their insecurities. Like he hung onto that incredibly pathetic grudge so much that he was just itching to air how unfaithful, how horrible his friend was for criticizing him on the podcast he controls and pays said friend to be on! The easiest crash course into writing women is to just actually write a good character That's it Genuinely Are you writing her as an actual character with her own thoughts, goals, and motivation, or are you writing her specifically _solely_ for fanservice, or to be a plot device, or to fill the quota. You can do the first and also have written her with fanservice in mind, but if you did any of the below, yes, it's probably going to end up being misogynistic on top of just being bad.
Last of those is worst as it gives least function in story or visual setting. All three female PCs of Final Fantasy VII (and remake) fill first criteria and some of those other. One emphasizes fanservice, one emphasizes plot device and one fills quota of occasional comic relief.

The "lying about their appearance" is really only true if someone literally stops wearing makeup the moment you start dating them and never wears it again. Which is...not really a thing that happens. By the makeup is false advertising logic, so is dressing up for your dorky podcast (although I do actually believe that shad wears a gambeson around the house)
The ironic thing about the blonde dressed up at 20.08 is besides the clothes being obviously and hilariously fake the picture has already been edited to conform to the male gaze. No female with a full complement of ribs or functional organs can have that thin a waist. It's objectively impossible as there would be too little physical space for ribs and functional organs. Either her hips have also been edited or that's a trans woman since her shoulders are broader than her hips. And while you can get that optical illusion in females who do a lot of upper body exercises, like swimming, boxing, or body day, the rest of her body in no way looks ripped enough to do any of that. From looking at the picture I would say that the picture has been bisected, the lower half has then been scaled down while the upper body retained its proportions and the two halves were then edited back together as the entire lower half looks awkwardly out of proportion with the upper half. My brain instantly notices those things and it hurts from looking at it. This is a 0/10 edit, please fire the person who edited it or send them on an editing course.
On the the surface, a client side safe search option is a fairly reasonable thing to exist. But the actual intent you see clearly from this. The case Shad is talking about wasn't the Bobbit case but it did happen 13 years ago. It's funny to me when they bring up examples of things like that that are older than some of their followers. Can't think of anything newer huh? Sharon Osborne, the woman who said it, got pushback from fellow a host saying the literal exact same thing he said ("If a woman had a breast cut off..."). She did have to apologize for it. He doesn't remember that part because it doesn't serve his argument. The woman, Catherine Kieu, also got life for it because while her defense was that she was abused the prosecution better argued that she was angry that he had cheated on her and he filed for divorce because they had a recording of the events and what she said to him.
I know I'm 4 months late, but, I just couldn't believe the way ha laughed about replacing a black person for some AI generated white guy, so I went to check his original video and... that part is gone. I've checked and the video is now 40 seconds shorter. No explanation given whatsoever anywhere, and no one in the comments brought it up.
