Thank you guys 🖤 this is a huge deal for me, this game has a very memorable place in my heart and it's one I've always wished got more love. It definitely faded away into time after the 2nd game came out. Through people that have played it never forgot about it, it seemed. My grandma used to sit and watch me play this game all the time and I remember the last time I visited her, this was the last game I played before she died. Every time I play this game it brings me back my memories of her that I hope will never leave me.

I was a PC gamer in the 90s, but couldn't buy many games. The Flea market had a booth that sold games, and had brand new big box PC games for dirt cheap(not even bargain bin games, no idea how he got them). One of those, was shadowman and when i bought it, fired it up, it blew my preteen mind. I am so glad to see it being done justice after all these years, thank you Night Dive.

I remember buying Requiem avenging angel and my dad was pissed at me cause he though it was a devil worship game and i had to explain to him that you played an angel then he let me play it. He was ok with all the killing though pfffffft

I'm impressed they're giving Valiant the credit they deserve. Fun Fact: Shadow Man was at one time the official super hero of New Orleans.

Valiant still owns ShadowMan. I am sure part of the licensing terms includes Night Diving giving credit to the owners of the IP. It would be kinda dumb of Valiant to license out the character but not insist on their own branding on the game of their character, right?

@@RarebitFiends I agree, but Valiant was bought by Acclaim in the 90s, who made games based on their franchises and eventually drove them out of business. I LOVE Valiant comics (Quantum and Woody!!!), and want them to get all the notice they can.

@@100Servings Valiant has been back for a decade. When the current owners bought the company and IP they got the rights to all the IP. Shadow Man is part of that IP. There was exactly zero chance that Night Dive would have been able to remaster or release this game without doing business with Valiant. The same was not true of Turok, which was one of a handful of Gold Key IP that Jim Shooter licensed when starting up the Valiant superhero shared universe.

@@RarebitFiends I know the history of it. It was an ambitious endeavor at the time. Games like Shadowman 1 and 2 were great, Turok was awesome, and Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal was hot garbage (yeah, bring that one back and let's see which company gets top billing!). I also have all the classic and new Valiant comics in digital format. They're pretty great, with a few exceptions. I just like good games and comics. I'm probably the world's oldest child.

I still recall how - especially at the time - Ocarina of Time was revered; but while that was happening I was busy being mind-blown with this game. This game was my "Ocarina of Time", it truly impressed me back then. The Dreamcast version was excellent (although the N64 version was also pretty good, and it's also the very first version of the game I saw prior to getting it on my Dreamcast). I particularly loved the overall game's moody / creepy atmosphere and its eerie, weird soundtrack. A masterpiece, definitely.

At long last, one of my all-time favourite games returns, so welcome back, Mikey! I completed the original version on Dreamcast several times, so I'll be grabbing a copy of this. What a truly great game this was, back in the day. Shadow Man reinvented the word 'atmospheric'.

As someone who has dumped hundreds of hours into the n64 version back in the day I am blown away by this remaster. It is amazing. I picked it up on the ps5 and cannot believe how awesome of a job was done. I’ll be picking it up on switch also !

as a child, playing a pirated version of this game in Russia when there was no Internet and not even knowing that there was a comic book, I was just blown away by the unique gloomy atmosphere and voodoo themes about which I knew almost nothing and this game fell into my soul. by this time, even in Russia, comics were officially published. it would be cool to see a new part of the game. for its time, this game was like Dark Souls because of the hardcore and gloomy surroundings

One of my favourite games, i had it on the N64 back in 1999 and Dreamcast version the following year. I’m really happy with the remaster on ps4, especially the improved lighting and shadows, it’s still a lot of fun and the soundtrack and atmosphere is still excellent.

I wonder when the PS4 version launches. I’ll be playing this on the PS5 though. I played the Nintendo 64 and PC versions and love the duality of deadside and the real world. A dark purgatory like setting behind the veil of regular everyday is a concept that I really liked. Even a desert eagle becomes the “shadow gun” in deadside. My first memory of this game was scary but...

Yes! Finally! I almost feared the project was dead. I wanna thank everyone at Nightdive who worked on this. Shadow Man is one of my absolute all-time favorite games! This will be the 4th version I'm gonna buy :D Still have my bix box of the PC version with the confusing, printed map, the N64 version, and the Steam one. Thank you!!

I owned this when it originally came out. I loved it, and replaced it many years later when I bought another N64 for nostalgia. I used to have a pair of the sunglasses and map for the original game. Sadly, they didn't survive decades of moving. Thank you for the remaster. This is one of my favorite games from my teenage years that many people missed out on.

I honestly can't wait for this to be released for the xbox one. I remember playing this game on my sega dreamcast back in the days. I definitely had my lights off in my room with the tv volume turned up. It'll be great to play this wearing my xbox headset in my dark living room reminiscing and replaying this again. Thank you for bringing this game back to life again all i need is a released date and i'll have it pre-ordered or ready to buy on day 1 release 🎮💀🖤
