A sign of really good comedy. You can do something topical and political and bring both sides in on the joke. Chris Rock's comedy rule for making fun of people/groups: "Make fun of what they DO, not what they ARE". This is why "Trump is a racist" jokes fall flat, but deconstructing his actions is hilarious.

The segment with the 10 dogs and the robot bursting through the wall being a scary death is probably the hardest i had ever laughed at stand-up comedy. Simply because he delivered it so well - and also because that might actually be the most comically scary way to die
