FIRST OF ALL Shannon been a beast on camera since his playing days. Then he was great on CBS nfl today show for 10yrs but that format wasn't right for him cz they'd only talk for like 30sec at a time. Then he did Sunday night inside the NFL type show with primetime on NFL network and inside NFL on showtime too... Ice n em just never watched sports if they didn't know Shannon was a charismatic character before this. Also Shannon filled in for Stephen A on first take for a whole week and those were some of the best episodes ever and ratings were great. Skip remembered that and brought him in to be his partner at fs1 couple yrs later

I think the Hamlin comments and Skip taking personal shots at Shannon was the pin in the coffin. I think the Hamlin shit was really the one. My brother lost his career because of a hit and for my partner who I work with to not even apologize for what he said, I see why Shannon took a day or two off. I think joe was right Shannon needed some time because it took a lot for Shannon to not to put hands and feet all over Skip after his comments.
