Building my first electric guitar (and wood project) from scratch with nothing but the few tools my dad has and youtube videos like this which are a fantastic resource, thank you!

Hi Adam, I'm a luthier also making banjos, ukuleles and guitars. You have a very natural and conversational way of teaching. Easy to listen to and follow and I'm learning some good tips from you. Keep up the good work! One suggestion: use tooth picks instead of nails as locater pins for the peghead veneer. You don't have to remove them and you will never have to worry about ruining a cutting tool when shaping the neck. Best, Mark

When applying wood glue, if you put a sprinkling of table salt on the glue before mating the two parts together it prevents the wood sliding around & doesn't affect the glue at all, therefore you don't need to insert the nails.

A Guy Doing Stuff it works, trust me, it's a tried & tested practice in the carpentry / joinery world, you don't need much, just a few grains.

Great series and very helpful - thanks for taking the time. Just one thing that worries me is you seldom seem to use a dust face mask. Breathing the fine dust from the sandpaper is really nasty stuff. The old timers got 'black lung' or silicosis from the fine sand dust in the mines - you are virtually doing the same thing. I barely even go into my workshop without wearing a 'P2' mask. You are only young - please take care of your health.
