Shaquille O'Neal admitted he was jealous of LeBron James becoming the all-time scoring champ. Shaq said quote “It was a professional jealousy moment. If it was me, I would have been arrogant for 19 seconds… I know he is a humble kid, and I know he is going to give the answer, ‘I don’t want to be involved in the debate of who the greatest,’ I am jealous of having the conversation... It is nice to be ‘Who’s the greatest? Him, or him?’ Everybody would love to be in that position.” Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react to Shaq’s comments.

The Shaq conversation is so interesting because he’s in just about everyone’s Top 10 all time, in most people’s eyes the 4th or 5th best Center of all time, and yet there’s still a prevailing feeling that he never reached his true potential. Some of that is because its probably true, but some of it is because Kobe was maybe the most insane hardworking athlete ever so he skewed the “Shaq doesn’t try her enough” narrative to another level. But it’s interesting to me what his legacy will be 30-40 years from now as the details become less important to future basketball fans

That's something about LeBron that doesn't get talked about enough. He lives and breathes basketball. He's committed himself to basketball in a way that no other player in league history has, with how much he spends to keep himself in the best shape possible, how much work he puts in in the weight room, and how much work he put into his game. He could've easily had a dominant career with just his freakish athleticism and natural gifts, like Shaq did. But he added every conceivable facet to his game that wasn't already there and became the arguable greatest player of all time when he still could've probably finished as a top 20-25 player ever without doing that

FINALLY! We are finally having the convo that needs to have been had for years. SHAQ SHOULD be right next to or above Michael Jordan in GOAT status. But Shaq got in his own way, this is what Kobe was trying to show and tell him ALL that time! Do y’all realize that nobody has Three peated since 2002! The lakers with Shaq and Kobe was the LAST team to three peat, still to this day! Shaq got in his own way. So now, I respect him for admitting this because it ultimately reminds people how great and LITERALLY how much of a massive force that Shaq was! Out of everyone on the Goat list, and I have Shaq at number 7, I give shaq flowers the most because he was TRULY, Truly a sight to behold and his game was just so based on brute force you literally could not stop this man. Had he and Kobe stayed together, they would literally be the best two players EVER! EVER! And it wouldn’t even be close. But again, Shaq got in his own way. At the end of the day, appreciate these guys and what they bring to the table right now, because their careers can go in a blink of an eye.
