Dennis talents were amazing there are very very few players in history that could play the game the way he did, it was part of his game to frustrate and agitate other players straight out of there game, he even got in Jordan’s head and that’s another very small number ! Dudes would be fouling out left and right trying to stop him because fouling is the only way they could! And knowing how soft today's game is where everything is a foul he'd be even more unstoppable than he was back then. Not to mention most of the "bigs" now are skinny and weak stretch 4s and stretch 5s. Shaq is basically a 7 foot 300 lb Lebron James. That type of power and ferocity. Dude broke multiple backboards. From a sheer power and physicality point of view there hasn't been a single guy like Shaq before or since. There's been taller guys, but not more powerful. Go watch what he did to Duncan and Robinson in the playoffs. Some of the best defensive big men to play the game and he ate their lunch and went through them like nothing. Shaq is probably the most unstoppable player to ever play the game, even more than MJ, Kobe or Lebron or any big you can name. Because he was always the biggest and the strongest guy and by a wide margin. That type of physical domination translates to any era.

@@avikellerman4539 It's true that Shaq was that dominant. I think you'd have to go further back instead of forward to find people of a different era that could go toe to toe with him in todays rules. For instance if you had guys like from the 60's Wilt Chamberlain, and Bill Russell, and then the 70's, Kareem and Julius Erving. That would be something to see... those guys could hang with Shaq. I think the only other guy who had Shaq's incredible gift of a physic was Wilt, and though Shaq was slightly bigger maybe in his prime, Wilt was by far faster, and more overall athletic... Wilt was amazingly fast on the court. And the dude has the highest points in an NBA game I cant' believe anyone will ever beat.... Shaq though is one of my favorite players of all time, on and off the court, but he also had a gift that made it so he didn't have to do what some other players had to do to be great. Guys like Julius Erving, Bill Russell, etc, guys who were like watching true geniuses play the game... and that's also where Rodman was in his own way. Shaq had everything that Rodman didn't. Shaq had a stable home, had bigger physique, was considered good looking, while Rodman suffered his entire life thinking he was trash because of what he went through growing up. So there is no doubt in today's rules Shaq would have played better against Rodman because there was no room, no space to get a little dirty like there was when Rodman and Shaq had their battles. But for the game as it was, when they played, that grey area was what allowed a man who would otherwise be physically dominated by a physically gifted athlete like Shaq, have a chance to sometimes honestly, make magic from nothing. He was one of the most ingenious at finding that line, and somehow being able to cross it without being called. Some of the ways he could look like he was honestly just focused on the ball, meanwhile his legs were doing things that no one saw because everyone was focused on the play above the shoulders, meanwhile Rodman was playing the game with his feet, perfectly placing his feet so that when Shaq got the ball and tried to move he was going to be falling over Rodman's leg, and if you didn't know Rodman was Rodman, no other player would have been called for it, because it could have just been an honest place to stand, but because you knew Rodman's game, you knew it wasn't an accident. And that takes a different kind of intelligence, and most of all, it takes a different kind of will. Anyone with Shaq's gifts physically is gonna be a star out there as long as they put in the hours... but Rodman, while not short, was no 7ft monster, and didn't even start to play basketball until he had a growth spurt after graduating highschool, and was working as a Janitor... To go from having the hell of a life he had as a kid, drug addict parents, being basically raised by another family who took him in, to being a Janitor after graduating, his life was basically ending where everyone expected his life to end up as, but to then playing on multiple championship teams in the NBA, it's amazing. The sheer will and force of finding a way to get those rebounds night after night, he really did succeed in a way no one thought he would... he know he could not catch up to others in other parts of the game, but he could be intelligent in ways that allowed him to neutralize their game... and he did it absolutely brilliantly night after night. Sadly though, Rodman wasn't ever taught how to manage his money, coming from where he did growing up, and he really doesn't have much from what I know of his situation... Where Shaq is incredible wealthy... and deservedly so on Shaq's side, Shaq was brilliant in regards to how he built his fortune on top of his pay, etc. Not only that but Shaq gives a lot to charities, etc, so nothing but respect for Shaq on and off the court... just wish Rodman had managed to save more of his good fortune. Must be harder to have had all that and to have lost almost all of it... because Rodman for his entire life felt no one had any reason to love him, i think he believed unless he spent the money no one would care about him, so he was generous to the point of leaving almost nothing for himself at the end.. and I find that kind of a sad ending to his career...

Yeah he was amazing for sure. He was far more than just a big body. It's true that he did suck at free throws but people kind of used that as an excuse to put down his shooting. But he was a decent threat from mid range as well.

Sorry guys, O’Neal was a bully that only did well because of his size. He DID NOT have any touch, especially a deft one, and intellectually not much was going on. Today, now that he’s a bit older, he understands the game, but back then he did less with more than anyone else I can think of.

That was his personality type. I remember him saying he likes hanging out with rockstars more than pro athletes. Rodman was the rockstar of basketball.

​@@damo9961 I don't think it was narcissism, Rodman is just a very odd character and the stuff that works for most people to get them in the right frame of mind / prepared for a game didn't work for him. The Bulls understood that, the Lakers didn't. And I'm not criticising the Lakers here, if what he was doing had negative implications for the rest of the team he just wasn't a good fit. What makes him even more odd is the dichotomy in that he was a complete loner (as far as his teammates went anyway) yet the ultimate team player on the court.

I miss the unique personalities, the unique shooting forms, etc. Remember Terry Teagle of the Lakers. Horrible looking jump shot and bricked a lot, but he had an nba body so it was cool to me.

​@@keepmoving2023-ku7nbugh no. Phil Jackson was the reason the Lakers would win the next 3 straight championships. Rodman at this point in his career was on decline, mentally. He just didn't have the patience and focus like he use to and hated being on a team with younger players. The Bulls where such a perfect fit for Rodman. Phil was a lay back coach and Jordan ran that locker room and they were mostly all veterans, grown ass men who knew how to take care of their business. That's what Rodman wanted but could no longer get once the Bulls broke up.

The 90's teams were weak compared to the great 80's teams. I watched Boston destroy Jordan over and over and over again. It took Jordan 7 years before he won anything. Bird and Celtics were old and broken. Detroit not the same team. Jordan is the most over rated player in history. Maybe most athletic but that's it. His dunks were nothing like Dom's.
