I don't think feminism started out like this. It was the suffragette movement trying to get the vote for women. I remember when I heard what they had to go through, as a 70s child, I was shocked. But in addition to that, the laws changed with having full Socialists governments. This also backfires onto these women: Because they couldn't get decent special rights as a tradeoff, because they aren't free anymore. In conservative Catholic environments, without having a overbearing Socialist Republican state, it's not a big problem to give women such special treatment, because it's embedded in equal obligations. That's also one big reason, why demography is so weak in Europe, and state control for the interest of "special people" is so high.

@@hfcriske Alexander is right about women needing to be taught empathy for men. They aren't born with it, and most never see a reason to learn it. The only way is if you force her to learn in order for you to date/marry her. If she refuses to learn to understand your perspective, get rid of her early. You can give one or two chances but if she fails and refuses to even try, it's not worth it.

Back in the 60's and 70's there was the see through blouse. In one University Town that I used to visit often, there were a lot of women, 20's, wearing them, without bras. It was a thing for a while, until it vanished. I suspect that there was a backlash from the community. As for Not wearing tops in public, there are beaches that permit it, but you are right, I have not seen it on the streets. There maybe a couple of reasons. One is community standards, backlash. Two, Fear of being the first one to be sexually assaulted, and have to go to the police or court. Three Those in relationships, family, may find it difficult as it would impact their wider community. In Europe, especially the south, it is widely practiced, on beaches and in beach towns. This has taken decades to become normal. Whether or not it will happen in North America, we will have to let time pass. Personally I don't think it will in the near term, as we are too hung up on religiosity.

It's a simple fact. Men tend to have a greater muscle mass than women, more muscle mass means greater heat production. Majority of men aren't walking around shirtless to sexual themselves, they are doing so to cool down their bodies. You can also find a lot of articles about women in offices complaining being too cold. Studies have found women prefer about 3 degrees warmer environment for the same reason. But it's sexist if we don't let women walk around shirtless and we live in a patriarchy, because the offices are too cold for women. Women are always the victims!

Finally. Thank God you understand that feminism, by definition, is for EQUAL rights. Just call extreme feminism "toxic feminism", like "toxic masculinity".

She's got herself in a tough spot. She's cut off a large portion of men by being so successful and wanting someone who can keep up and provide her current lifestyle or better. Sure her education makes for intelligent conversation, but really, men who can provide want to be appreciated for what they provide, not just meeting a standard she's set. Let's face it, as much as we'd like to, not all of us men have a job that can support a woman who doesn't contribute. Be it because we are young and starting out, or older and had to start over from divorce and/or layoffs. It isn't the 1950s where single income families/relationships is the norm.

Don't take her out to dinner, just go for a cup of coffee and a walk in the park, that's enough time to decide whether there's enough of a connection to spend two-three hours talking over a meal _and_ footing the bill, while still walking away without the feeling being taken advantage of.
