Small comparison in sound with Stock manifolds Vs Short Tube Headers
1st comparison: Pictures show them side by side
2nd comparison: Weight. Short Tubes are little over 4 pounds lighter each.
3rd comparison: Cold start
4th comparison: Revs
Test vehicle is a 2005 Chevy Silverado 5.3 with Flomaster 10 series exhaust, stock cats
Personal opinion, I couldn't hardly tell a difference. The owner says you can kind of tell when getting on interstate.

⁠@@uaespetsnaz2391I think he means the mid-range pitches of the engine are slightly louder after headers. In other words, the sounds above the very low noises, but below the higher-pitched tones of the engine are boosted.

I think they're more for better scavenging but it entirely depends, do you have stock cats? Stock muffler?

Yes, it's not required to tune when installing Short Tube Headers
