As an ABC myself, never have I met any Chinese person who desires that southeast Asian thug look unless they actually grew up in those environments (lots of Chinese live in those countries too). Of those Chinese people who do have tats, it’s more of the Japanese aesthetic look over the thugged out TRG/ABZ style.

At first when I saw the word "Hotpot" I got excited until I realized it was just the name of the podcast and not you guys eating some... but I digress. Anyway, I'm just reflecting on my own preferences in men as an Asian woman. At my low income high school, a majority of the Asians were Filipino and Vietnamese. They mostly resembled Kevin Nguyens I guess, and that was the kind of guy I used to go for. I'm not sure how or when this happened, but when you guys mentioned something about Asian cops, that made me realize I am more attracted to Chad adjacent types these days. And this made me think of one guy in particular from my high school that is Cambodian. I heard that a lot of Cambodian guys usually end up in gangs so you'd think he'd be more of a Kevin Nguyen, but this guy in particular went the Chad adjacent route by becoming an Asian cop. He also doesn't have any tattoos despite being a military veteran. I just think he's a weird case. I also find him attractive against my own will. Kinda off topic, but what would be the female equivalent of a Kevin Nguyen? I feel like I am maybe physically considered one of those as an intimidating (according to people that are not me) tattooed petite Asian woman. I also go to UC Berkeley so I'm confused as to why I find cops attractive, as most of my peers seem to hate them. I feel like I just needed to get these thoughts out I guess. It might be the ADHD. As for that Cambodian guy from high school, he knows I find him attractive. We dated for a while, but that ended 3 years ago when we got engaged. Did we ever get married? Why are tattoos attractive ? Is the only difference between Asian Chad and Asian gangster tattoos ? Both are masculine and well built, but tattoos convey an attitude - ratched, hood, basically Asian ghetto, which is closer to ghetto white/black/Hispanic, while Chad is white adjacent, but more accurately, middle class/upper class of all races. It's IMO a class thing.

The ABB look is more attainable, but being a Chad is still king. The problem is, you can't just "dress like a Chad," you either are one, or you're not. All the Asian Chads are male model good looks, tall, jacked, and have muscle. Top 1%ers genetically. Of course they don't need tats to look edgy and masculine, their base genetics do the work for them. Also, the Chad look is better for actually getting a job and the highest quality of women will care about this lol

I'm Filipino and I'm more of the Chad WASP type. Most Filipino guys are into the whole Kevon Nguyen look. Not really my style and doesnt work for me. I will say from personal experience White women like the Chad look and dont seem to care for dating a Kevin Nguyen look.

I think it's not so much about trends or fads so much as it's about your age/generation. Folks who grew up on MTV and golden era of TV programming would be more attracted to the Chad group. Gen Z and younger more likely to be more open to either aesthetic

The most attractive men are the ones who don't care about "being masculine," these ideas of being a Chad or Kevin Nguyen are toxic. At the end of the day, the most attractive you can be is to be confident in yourself.

Facial structure is genetic, but you can control your weight, which is what contributes to having a chiseled jaw. Anyone can maximize their facial definition by lowering their body fat %. Getting fit is advisable for everyone. The same can't be said about tats. Getting inked for the sake of gaining external approval is a really dumb idea. Bottomline is: don't try pretending to be someone you aren't to please others. You might be able to fool someone for momentary gain, but you'll never be able to fool yourself. And it's probably not very tenable to live the rest of your life as a fraud.
