This just popped up on my RU-vid for no apparent reason. I watched the whole thing, just like the first time I saw these movies. I was setting up and decorating my Christmas tree some years ago, and to keep myself entertained, I randomly picked a channel. They were running a Silent Night, Deadly Night marathon. I watched all of them, back to back, and was greatly amused. I have very low standards for entertainment and I have no shame about that. While most of my favorite holiday memories involve family and friends, this is still one of the ones that make me feel all happy.
Well, at that time you could take them to theaters, but they're always thinking it would be a cheesy horror or something else (the same thought when Night of the Living Dead was released), since the internet wasn't there yet to give infos about the movies.
@@phantomzone2725 Taking kids to cheesy horror movies isn`t any better than any other horror movies, people are just shitty parents.. Also, there are a lot of REALLY STUPID people out there lol
I saw Bill Mosley at a convention just recently and jokingly asked where are the SNDN 3 autograph pictures?? and he did a brief double take and then chuckled and said "I actually have some at home, didn't think to bring those" LOL
6:19- I know why Grandpa is REALLY here. Because on the morning of November 5, 1955, an alien spaceship crash landed into his barn, and ran over one of his pine trees while getting away.
So does that mean Elle is Sherman’s sister. Does she also owned Lone Pine Mall with his brother. After the scene with Grandpa Peabody talking to Little Billy. He got the electric chair.
Charles Argyle brad has had lots of videos taken down . Many for bs copyright claims. Though some of the older ones might’ve been for being about graphic stuff but it’s typically censored so who knows.
Yeeaahh. He's kind of like a more human version of Michael Myers. What the Hell am I saying??? Michael Myers has *never* been human in his entire *life* !
I like to think every sequel is basically one big clip show of the original. Also, Black☆Star from Soul Eater? I didn't know you were a fan of Silent night, deadly night! XD
Funny, I was watching Ryan Hollinger's video on Silent Night, Deadly Night when I got this notification. But Brad, this is the best Christmas present one could ask for!
@ECKohns he was also in Turbo which also flopped at release and was in theaters at the exact same time. He honestly should get an award for being in two simultaneous failures.
If Gene Siskel had had half a brain he wouldn't have spoken about the film on TV at all, act like it doesn't exist if he thinks it's earnings are, "blood money", as if it's being paid for with the lives of children. TriStar is getting tons of publicity and teens will all go to see it because some square on TV talked down to them. Meanwhile the film makes three times it's budget and a ton more on home video, continuing to be re released in this century.
The film was more box-office successful than Wes Craven’s first Nightmare film, coincidentally released the same day. But no, all parents wanted to let their kids see was THIS film. I’m glad my mom went to go see Nightmare instead of this. Even if she never lets me mention this film in front of her. But, this is a cult classic, so I’m fine with that, too.
It makes me wanna expose their mailing address. Seriously they don't like these kinds of films but do shit like that to actors who just needed some money. It's kinda like RU-vid reviewers who don't have any funny or original content so they just use shit on popular things.
I just recently found your channel on RU-vid and started watching your Cinema Snob videos. Love every one of them by the way. But when you upload older videos, I feel an unease within. I am used to seeing you in your present state of visual appeal. So, as a favor to all those that feel the same way... can you please digitally remove your hair from older videos. It would make the viewing more seamless from one video to the next. I hear there is some kind of precedent for this.
Ah yes, I remember the family gathering around to watch the Charlie Brown Garbage Day special, where Linus avenges Charlie Brown and wipes out the whole peanuts gang
The palm trees in the background during the Garbage Day sequence clearly indicate that SNDN2 was shot in southern California, so it shouldn't be at all surprising that it doesn't look very Christmasy.
Every time a neighborhood kid asks me to buy something. like a Christmas wreath or raffle tickets, I say " sure...I'll buy 2!!! Just do me a solid and bring my garbage can to the curb, okay? ".
11:16 - _"Hardcore Catholic schools .... Warning against the perversions of sex, while introducing them to their future kinks!"_ *That* .... is the best description of convent life .... I have ever heard ... Wow ....
These are my favorite reviews!! Although, to nitpick, some orphanages would keep people after they aged out of the system. I was reading a news story/expose on abuses at Catholic orphanages, and one woman that had been interviewed before her death had been stuck there until she was 22 and left to live with her sister.
Mmmmm MMMMMM! This looks like just the right dose of good ol’ sass that this here afternoon needed! Time to whip up some blueberry pancakes and saddle up!
Fun fact: Robert Culp, who was in the third installation of the Silent Night Deadly Night series, also did the voice for Dr. Breen in the widely-acclaimed video game, Half Life 2. He also was in a similar killer Santa movie called, "Santa Slay".
Another fun fact: Robert Culp's grandson Elmo Kennedy is an influential underground rapper/musician called Bones. He was one of the pioneers of the trap metal and emo rap subgenres. He also has two side projects called surrenderdorothy and OREGONTRAIL.
Alongside the remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night, I'd be cool to see a Snob episode on Christmas Evil. Would tie everything up perfectly, killer Santa-wise.
Fun fact: Bones(real name Elmo Kennedy O'Connor), an influential underground rapper/musician who was one of the pioneers of trap metal, emo rap, and cloud rap is the maternal grandson of Robert Culp. Edit: Forgot his full name.
not only is leo johnson in silent night deadly night (better watch out!) 3 but ben horne is the protagonists psychiatrist, this is the most twin peaksy of all the silent night deadly night movies
It took 8 years but snob finally got his christmas wish. Part 2 blu ray that came late last year has not just new interviews including with Eric Freeman but new commentary with him on it.
OH YEAH! YES!! I've been waiting for these reviews of yours ever since I discovered you a few months ago!! Thank You, Cinema Snob! These 3 movies are hilarious & outrageously weird, especially the 1st 2, & they're the perfect fodder for your hilarious & fun movie reviews!!! The Cinema Snob Strikes Again! Best, Doug
You have no idea how much these videos help me through my hard times and times are hard but I won't get into all that. I just want to say thank you for all your hard work and to those that help you behind the scenes. Take care and keep it going.
I love the first 2 movies and have nostalgia for the 4th. It wasn't until I was older that I realized how cheesy the second one was being a 80's baby who grew up on 80's cheesy horror
Ironically I think that billy and Ricky’s killing sprees would all have been averted if they just gave him the Santa ain’t real talk earlier than what they did...
Considering that Rooney played a Japanese stereotype in a movie, I find his complaints about the first movie even more hypocritical. The murders in the movies are fictional, the racism in his was real.
Remember that scene in Ernest saves Christmas where the actor gets appalled at the idea of making a horror Christmas movie? Was that in response to this film or was that simply denouncing vthe idea of a horror Christmas movie before horror Christmas movies existed(not counting black Christmas)?
1:08:36 Use the force Laura. 1:08:46 And you Laura we give the light of Earendil. Our brightest star, may it be a light for you when all other lights go out.
18:33 Me - Grandpa has sippin his Christmas special juice. "Don't be talking back to grandmother like that!" Me - Well, that's not the first time that has happen.
51:24 - 51:27 Huh. And to think that this whole time I thought the third film was supposed to be read as “Silent Night Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out”.
Given that Billy's grandfather was on his father's side of the family, maybe he and Ricky would have been safer going to live with his mother's relatives.
And to think that maybe just maybe if mother superior treated billy nicely and with kindness, empathy, compassion, and sympathy Billy might never have ended up going insane remember when mother superior said punishment is necessary well billy said it to the girl he murdered at the toy store who got assaulted by another guy in the back room that proves it wasn’t Santa that turned him insane it was the cruel treatment from mother superior and everyone else the only one who cared in the end was the nun that was kind to billy and tried to help him
Toys from R rated movies was a thing in both the 80’s and 90’s. Rambo, Terminator, Robocop, Alien and Predator. All had toys and merchandise for kids. Of course toys like those are no longer in production yet they still make toys for kids based on T for Teen to M for Mature rated games. Like Overwatch and Call Of Duty. Overwatch is for Teen. And Call Of Duty is Mature.
