Can you reiterate to them how thankful we are for their willingness to share and how much we appreciate them, and you, for doing so. Thank you all so much. We NEED this in today's climate more so than ever.

Thank you Leilani for all that you're doing. Let your Amish neighbors know it is greatly appreciated that they are allowing this to be shown. It gives a true insight to how things have been done for generations upon generations. It is amazing how some people say they can't live without certain things but yet here's a community that lives without a lot of things.

This was fascinating to me! This man knows his craft. He cleaned everything up before putting a new show on. I've never seen this, up close, before. I enjoyed his explanations of what the parts of the hooves were. Job well done! Please thank him, for those of us who don't know about this work, for explaining his process! Thank him for his patience, in letting you film this! It is very much appreciated! Thank you for doing this. GOD bless

This man knows exactly what he's doing and is great at it! Incredible workmanship! So fascinating to watch! Even after seeing it done in real life, you just get drawn into it. The inside of the hoof always reminds me of butter when they slice it away 😄, so smooth!

One heck of a farrier! If anyone's in that area, with horses, I'd say go to him. When I was young I was going to go to farrier school, till mine told me the horror stories about people getting their gut cut open with a nail, from an unruly horse, etc.. and that it generally cost more to leave the driveway than what he made. He was super good though and made corrective shoes for my horses cow hocks. He got the problem fixed.

I love this, I am also a farrier! Can you tell that was the horses first time on camera??? I joined for all the canning knowledge and I love seeing knowledge of this historic profession spread around also. Kudos to that farrier and the horse did a great job also. I cant believe the amish dont wear leather chaps or farrier aprons, everyone else does, those nails are dangerous before they're bent and cut!
@coloradoblueskiesboutique7720
Wow this was just crazy to watch. Never new so much craftsmanship had to go into shoeing. My question is how often do they have to do this? Let them know we love them sharing their gifts with us. We are lead to believe that their life style is easy and simple, but watching something like this...........hard work, sweat and I am sure some tears!.

This video is great! I hope to get a horse when I move to larger land, I'm sure I will have to do this. I admire the Amish so much, just as I admire all our pioneer and native ancestors. I would honestly love to live among them, but I know they have very strict standards of who they let in. You must have a wonderful heart for them to open up so much of their lives to you.

Great detail, Thank your friend for sharing his work with us. I do wish though that he'd said why all this is even necessary as that has always been a mystery to me, obviously wild horses require no she's or cutting down of the hoof, is tht simply because our domestic horses spend to much time just standing around in barns and grass fields I wonder?
@Ativabrand
@Ativabrand Год назад
It may be because the Amish use their horses for their buggy which travels on pavement. Just a thought
@RockKnocker17
@RockKnocker17 Год назад
Yes, wild horses on average travel 15 to 30 miles a day for food and water and they generally live in dryer rockier soil than many horse pastures. Genetics are also important many of our pet horses now are many many generations away from wild and hoof health is top priority in the wild, with human care and human breeding hooves have changed just like all the generations of breeding have changed the dog. I am also a farrier and have worked on captured and broke mustang's and their hooves need much less care than most horses.
