Singaporean hawkers in NYC cook up plan to take local food across US 

In Sg, both the hawkers and customers get squeezed. Where does the profit go to? In other countries, the hawkers reap more of the profit though the customers pay more. In Sg, when hawkers increase the price, the landlords and govt agencies will try, in one way or another, to share the bacon. It is a vicious cycle in Sg. The customers will end up pay more and more but the problem is still there. The hawkers are not reaping more even though they may be charging more. It is the landlords and govt agencies laughing their way to the bank. This is why the customers are complaining.

That's why the name is Urban Hawker not Hawker Food Centre.

@@singaporeseaslugs1393 NYC labor is expensive because they have unions and minimal wages. NYC income taxes are higher than Singapore. The only thing these local hawkers think of is pricing but they fail to factor in expenses.
