Thanks for all of the test footage and photos. Pretty impressive in MHO! I'm considering one so I can mount it on my bicycle helmet or handlebars. And through my walks in the woods.

Paul, You can improve things a little by going into the menu and altering the exposure may be up a third of a stop to brighter the image. Also put it into HDR mode (atleast I think that is what it is called) that seems to improve things. The SJ4000 benefits from bright conditions but having no lens hood and a wide field of view means you will get flare if the sun is in shot. Audio pickup is good so long as your close in. In some ways this can be good especially if there is lots of ambient noise around like cars and planes. It won't pick that noise up so well but it will catch your voice provided your not too far away. Sandy

nice cam for the money i had a go pro and sold it on :( for filming hill tops, landscapes and action stuff - brilliant for filming in the woods - crap (imo) all the trees bend due to the fisheye lens making the viewer have headaches etc (see my gopro cam test video). shame considering most of my films are in the woods. i will get one of these cheap ones to mount on the truck and to fly for lanscape filming to add some extra for the vids. just my opinion paul. dont worry about the thumbs down mate - we all get em now

I have had a go around with an action camera this summer and I liked the end results. I bought a gopro3+black. The ability to capture wide angles and film in wet conditions was pretty cool. Also they will stand up to a bit more abuse in the woods! But my film experience is very limited. Someone like yourself who can actually film a good video, unlike me, should have alot of fun with this new tool :) take care -Chris

i just did my first test with this camera, yes your footage looks less shaky and clearer, I uploaded an mp4 but it got a little fuzzier in the process... hmmm... what editing software do you use? Any other hints on uploading the video? Perhaps i missed a hd setting... anyway, nice vid!

I've had one for a few weeks and I love it. I tried increasing the exposure, as suggested in the 'Techmoan' RU-vid review but mine seems to be better on the 'standard' setting. Turning HDR on helps but I lack the technical knowledge to understand what it is :-) The only problem I've encountered so far was caused by carrying it in a shirt pocket while out for a walk on a warm, humid morning after heavy rain... when I tried to use it there was a misty blob of condensation on the inside of the lens! With hindsight probably not the cleverest way of transporting it :-) Atb

Looks good mate. Better than my first effort with this camera. What software are you using to edit your vids? Think that plays a big factor in the quality. I'm still using Movie Maker and reckon its a bit crap.

For that kind of money its great value, one thing I would like to see is close up videos within the forest i.e. leaves, etc. Also would like to see how the video comes out in low light conditions, also the sound quality standing far way / close to it ...i'm not asking too much am I! :) ~Peace~

clarity wise its good, not a huge fan of the slight fish eye effect (same thing with gopros) but it seems slight in this footage!

change your white balance to cloudy when youre outdoors. it makes the color less dull. auto white balance is so dull

May i ask how long the battery lasts mate and did it come with an SD card looking at one on Evil bay now ?

Where did you buy it from, if you don't mind me asking. From a lot of the reviews iv seen, a lot of places are passing off fakes, as the real thing.

I have been on the bleachers for an action cam now for quite a while. One of my major activities for it would be diving so I will most likely go for the GoPro for various reasons. Here is my major gripe about them, now this is only my opinion and view. I hate Fish Eye lens. It drives my freakin bonkers. I use to like them for a little dramatic and artistic flair but now they irritate me. It is not so bad when you have long horizontal lines like landscapes but, when there are tall vertical lines then it is very noticeable. Beyond that they have their place and the quaility of the photos of the one you have featured cannot be beat for the price. I was really impressed.
