4 January 2024. Loved Slade when I was growing up in the UK - my sisters and I had their poster on our bedroom wall. The words now mean even more than they did back then and yes, we do need to all pull together all around the world. We will win this unseen war we have unwittingly been pulled into and we will come out the other side united. Courage & love my friends 💜💜
40 years old this year,, was 11 years old then,,, 51 now,, and most of my family and friends are either dead or moved on, how we take thing for granted,, wish i could go back and do things differently.
I heard ya laddie. but none of us can. Keep the love they had for you in your heart and seek Jesus Christ. This world has gone to hell in a hand basket.
And probably get slaughtered and murdered by choirs galore Its odd, I've never heard it performed by another artist or choir (Then, coincidentally choir boys briefly appear at the end)
@@greatunz67 If it had been recorded by a more international profile act doing this song, it would have had more of a profile, larger international recognition, it rather than just a uk hit
Me 64 Alvin wish I 16 doing the same as you at 16 .fck me what a era to grow in first band i watched skinhead then in my head n heart now .Joe Hawkins got a lot to answer for.
Oh my Gosh! I was 12 years old when I heard this song for the first time. I remember it was an afternoon in September 1984 and I was alone at home, in the countryside of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, more precisely in my hometown, called Tenente Ananias and I just fell in love with it because the melody is really beautiful... Today, at the age of 53, in the middle of 2024, I see that the lyrics also make sense. Today I speak English, back then I was only attracted by the melody
the same happened to me!! But I´m one year older than you, and from Argentina. Today we can listen to all this music in a radio station that used to be then. It´s the same format and music. If you want to, I can tell you where to listen in the internet!
Not by me. They shaped my taste in music in my early teens. Great blues band, listen to BBC sessions, as good as Led Zeppelin. Noddy could have been in ACDC.
This is one SLADE'S greatest songs for sure. and the meaning in the song is more important now than ever. with all the shit that's going on in the world right now. and it should get airplay far and wide so everyone can soak up that meaning. so it soften their hearts and make this world a better place to live again.
This is a classic track from a very under rated band . They wrote some classic songs . This one should be played more as a anthem for todays situation . The lyrics say it all . We should all stand together .
Lindíssima musica. Eu a ouvi pela primeira vez no trabalho. Trabalhava a noite e la pras 6 da manha coloquei meu radinho na rádio mundial do Rio e la estava ela. Fantástico. Nunca mais deixei de ouvir.
This group influenced so many others, KISS, Cheap Trick, Quiet Riot, and so forth. Ozzy called Noddy one of the greatest voices in rock. One of the greatest live bands ever.
Some things in life are made special for a few individuals. In turn that makes us special. Slade is special, they punctuated an era that is ours alone.
One thing I really love about Noddy's voice is how clear all his words are. You can hear everything he says and it's awesome because it makes me appreciate the lyrics even more.
One of the biggest bands in music history. You need music like this on the radio more often Listen. Not always the boring music that makes it onto the radio today.
I believe in woman, my oh my I believe in lovin', my oh my Don't a woman need a man? Try and catch one if you can I believe in woman, my oh my We all need someone to talk to, my oh my We all need someone to talk to, my oh my You need a shoulder to cry on Call me, I'll be standing by We all need someone to talk to, my oh my We all need a lotta lovin', my oh my Yeah, and whole lotta lovin', my oh my I can lend a helping hand If you ain't got nothing planned We all need some lovin', my oh my Oh, yeah Oh Yeah So let's all swing together, my oh my We can all swing together, my oh my You've got troubles of your own No need to face them all alone We can all swing together, my oh my So let's all pull together, my oh my Yeah, let's all pull together, my oh my We can ride the stormy weather If we all get out and try So let's all pull together, my oh my Yeah, let's all pull together, my oh my
Today is July 12th 2022, I haven't heard this song since 1986 and it's from 1984. It came to mind out of nowhere and I just had to look for it on RU-vid. This just comes to show that Slade and the influence it had is still very much with us today regardless of all the years gone by. An amazing band to say the least.
This song/video should have been promoted more than it was. It was definitely undervalued. As it celebrates its 40 year anniversary, people still tune in and say "My Oh My"!
Been a massive fan of Slade since the early seventies when I was at School. Noddy Holder in my opinion is one of the greatest vocalists this Country has ever produced.
According to a British body that measures sales of singles, no British band sold more singles in the 1970s than Slade. Given how many legendary British bands had been around since the 60s and others that became popular in the early 70s, that’s an absolutely remarkable achievement. Almost as remarkable is the fact that their popularity in the US really never took off. Casual listeners of music in America don’t know who Slade are. The educated and updated listener knows about them, but I know people who are fairly well informed on groups that are legendary in Britain, and they know nothing about Slade. It’s almost like they’re England’s best kept secret. And if it hadn’t been for Quiet Riot redoing two of their hits, even fewer people in the States would know about them. Sad. They are a great group.
I bought Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply, with my own money, in 1983 when I was 9. I wore my little tape player out with this and Pyromania. Slade definitely should have been bigger in the States.
My Oh My just sends shivers down my spine, the ending instrumental and choir finish is amazing. We all need some good rock and roll ! And the drums to me is signature Slade in all songs. Today's music mostly sucks, I'm 62 and miss the glory days
I Absolutely agree, this is one of my all time favorite songs. and it contains an AWESOME message that this Country could use right now. I know that it inspires me when I hear it.
"Lets all pull together, my oh my! We can ride this stormy weather if we all get out and try!" These lyrics so resonate in this age that's threatening to go full dystopian if we don't fight back, so fight back, we must!! CHEERS!
I just found this humming a melody into a searching app. I was looking for another song, but then I heard this and immediately remembered having heard and liked it as well. It's been a long time since I heard it
😢 this was the Greatest song for me i was 17 and had no one at 18 i went in the army. And for the first time i was needed. And they were people Just like me. Done 10 years. Am now 70 and yet again i have no one i love this song and listen to it alot
What old timer, sounds like you have done your duty. I salute you, or come to -at ease- if you're non-com. Like me. Check out Ripple by The Grateful Dead and Third Time Lucky by Foghat. Be well.
Listening to these words. This song speaks a lot for where we are right now. We all need loving and a helping hand, no need to face them all alone ❤️ #slade #noddy

2nd June 2024 here in Mumbai in India. This brings back many memories of Dubai of the 1980s. So many friends have passed away but music like this brings back memories gushing back.
I forgot about this song. Heard it today for the first time in years, and remembered I loved this song way back then. So, here I am!! And added it to my music.
No Ipads iPhones Amazons or Googles. Real voices, real people, real wooden guitars and real sound! No bloody smart AI and fancy computers. A tiny spot of a Real-life we have already lost

What are the chances of we having this type of amazing songs today - ZERO! The songs of the eighties were like operas, with just amazing sounds, instruments and unbelievable letters!!! Lucky were the ones who lived this time to tell the story!
Great song...great band...Noddy Holder has one of the most distinctive and haunting vocals in this song. I cannot believe they didn't get more recognition for their music.
Wonderful song! I first heard it when i was 13 years old in 1983 and got caught at once, it's a pity it didn't make it to number one, i was in the blues today and this amazing song lifted my spirit. Wonderful! And the lyrics is beautiful! "So let's all sing together my oh my", so here i am raising and swaying my arms with them, it should be relaunched in 2020! A timeless masterpiece! One of the Greatest Songs of All time! Thank you Slayde! (Slayde's fans know why I deliberately misspelled!), God bless you!
