This is definitely a form of active recovery with an injury. Love that I don’t have to completely stop working out.. I just had to make steady changes and rebuild the strength and heal the structure. Def a game changer.

Thank you so much! I’ve been doing your exercises 3-4 days a week for 2 weeks and my pain is almost gone! I have slap tears in both shoulders from muscle ups and within such a short amount of time my shoulders almost feel good as new! I’ve been stressed for months and out of the gym but now I’m finally able to get back and start exercises without instability or pain. Your videos were a game changer for me, thank you!!!!!’

It's sooooo good when you finally see the light at the end of the tunnel hey? SLAP tear doesn't mean the end of working out the way you want to. For me, it was a new beginning!

I work as a barber and get a lot of clients in their 40s and upwards. The ones who choose good physical therapy almost always do better than the surgery guys. I keep seeing guys who have had surgery, and revision surgeries for knees and stuff like that. Life style adaptations are the way to go in my opinion

This is great stuff, I am glad I found it! In July of last year I had a shoulder injury and the MRI shows the following: Tearing of the anterosuperior and posterior superior labrum. The surgeon called it a SLAP tear, and ive been putting off surgery. This can be rehabbed you're saying. I am interested in purchasing a rehab program. My question is whats your opinion on PRP and Peptide therapy in addition to physiotherapy?
@UnityGymOnline
@UnityGymOnline 3 месяца назад
I've heard they can be good, I'd get them if I had access to Peptides in Australia. Whatever you choose to do, a rehab program is essential. If you want to follow the programs that worked so well for me and many others around the world, join the UMS once coaching here unitygym.com I'll write your programs, and you get 1:1 coaching all for $1.75/day

I’ve had 2 surgeries in the past for a slap tear repair, then a bankart repair on my right shoulder. A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with a posterior labrum tear on the SAME shoulder … it’s really disheartening. Can these programs help out with a posterior tear and help me get back to pain free ROM/workouts? Or is this specific for SLAP tears?

I'm so sorry to hear that, and I can relate so much. 14 months after my first SLAP tear I suffered another one, on my other shoulder. Man it was hard. The good news is that the process I followed works for 90% of shoukder injuries. I'm fortunate to have 3 friends who are world class sports physios and who were working at my gym at the time. So I was training with them daily which gave me unparalled insight into shoulder rehab. I highly recommend joining the UMS Tribe Membership for a free trial. It's cost effective and you will work with me and get customised programs. Check it out unitygym.com/ums

I have a torn supraspinatus, a torn subscapularis, and have been diagnosed with spondyloarthropathy. Does surgery need to be performed or will rehab alone help?
@UnityGymOnline

Rehab alone will help And you may need surgery I think the answer to your question is within this episode. Listen to what we discuss, then decide which route to go 😃

I have had a SLAP tear from a traumatic event (throwing the ball hard) 3 months ago. in the earlier days it was pretty bad with my shoulder stiff and limited range of motion and as the time went on my range of motion came back and there wasn't any pain. only when I hyper extended at an angle. I was doing some exercises every now and then and ofcourse I'm not able to throw the ball. I went to a orthopaedic surgeon and he straight away asked me for an MRI and was like there's no other way to fix it than surgery. my questions: - I have seen improvement in my shoulder in the last 3 months so is it safe to wait it out even more while actively going for PT? - can I continue with the exercises and sports that don't hurt my shoulder. like pushups, running etc. - why do even experienced orthos surgeons discourage PT and asks to go for surgery? is it always "every head is a nail for a hammer"

You absolutely should follow a strength and flexibility program to regain full function. Sport that doesn't aggravate it is OK, but be careful. Yes, surgeons make money from surgery. So they advise it as first course of action. It's terrible advice. Try the shoukder rehab program in the ums tribe membership. You can start a free trial, I'll create a custom program for you, see how you go. unitygym.com/ums

@@UnityGymOnline do we always opt for PT before regardless of the type of tear or just for type 1 and 2
@UnityGymOnline
@UnityGymOnline 6 месяцев назад
@@TheOsama8 You've raised an important consideration regarding SLAP tears and the approach to treatment. It's vital to remember that surgery is a significant and irreversible step. In many cases, surgical intervention can actually exacerbate symptoms rather than alleviate them. With this in mind, physical therapy (PT) and strength training, particularly those following a progressive approach, should always be the first line of treatment, regardless of the type of tear. This approach is essential because it works towards not just alleviating symptoms but also strengthening the area to prevent future issues. Surgery should only be considered as a last resort, particularly if you've thoroughly attempted and found strength training to be ineffective. As long as you are capable of performing the necessary exercises for recovery, it's advisable to pursue that route. Only in situations where conservative treatment methods have been thoroughly exhausted without success should surgery be considered.

@@UnityGymOnline also, I was thinking, since PT will help strengthen the surrounding muscles, even if we eventually go for surgery after let's say 6 months of rehab exercises, the surrounding muscles will be strong enough to help us with the rehab after surgery as compared to going for surgery straight away and then starting from scratch to strengthen the surrounding muscles that are weak and gotten even weaker since we had to immobilise our shoulder
