If you have ever been stumped by your sewing machine, are the proud owner of a new stitcher, or are planning on purchasing a stitcher, this workshop is for you. Chris “Slickbald” Andre will cover setting up a Class 4 Cobra machine (or similar), finding “home”, tension and thread weights, and go over the accessories as well. Many applications will be demonstrated. Questions are encouraged and students will have the opportunity to practice with the stitchers on hand.

Excellent video! Great close up shots show exactly what needs to be seen! Very helpful. Just one piece of information I'd like to share . . . The numbers on the left side of the stitch length bezel indicate the length of the stitch in millimeters. So with the selector lever close to a 4, you should get a stitch length of 4 mm. 6 for 6mm stitch length, etc. However, the scale of the numbers on the left side is an approximation - It's not an exact scale as stitch length can change with the thickness of material sewn and as you said should be ignored. By the way, on flat bed sewing machines that have a round dial with numbers for changing the stitch length, the numbers also show the approximate stitch length in millimeters.

Thank you so much for adding details about the keeper position and guide arm settings. 👍👍👍 It's saved me SO much time to have found this video! I couldn't find ANYTHING with google forums or Facebook. They should have those details in the manual for new users.

Chris, didn't you see that Ferrari logo on my machine years ago :-) Now I have a Porsche logo on my Cobra just to help it make corners faster :-) Good video.

Thanks Chris for this vodeo. I have been having some trouble with my tension. After watching your video I noticed that the lock screw on my bobbin was missing . I am assuming that this is my problem. I will be caling Leather Machine Company to see if I can get that screw and get it replaced. Again thanks you covered several things that I needed.

A set of gunsmith screwdrivers/bits work well on sewing machines. Keeps from trashing-out screw slots or stripping the heads. (don't ask me how I know, but I know...)

Hi Chris, I noticed with headphones on that the audio seems to only be coming out of one channel and I hear nothing on the other. I'm not sure if that was how it originally was or not. Sidenote: I love your Cowboy Action Holster pattern pack I bought a few years ago.
