They're going to do the length that they want. If you don't like it, watch some other channel's LPs. Stop complaining about this stupid shit under every episode. Literally comments under every episode complaining about length. Shove off already. THEY make the episodes, and you don't even pay them anything for it. "But I want more!" This is what you get, take it or leave it.

the fact there are babes on the screen with colours that don't look like puke goes to show nes could've had cool action games even with the limitations but no one bothered when done correctly they can look as nice as snes
I'm actually really puzzled why they _wouldn't_ do the SNES version instead. - Better graphics - Larger play area - No need for Four-Score because it has four face buttons on the SNES controller
Wow, Pat is a completely different person when he is not in NES Punk character. Much more enjoyable to watch when he is himself. I hope he makes review videos like that, not only podcasts.
Super Smash TV is one of my all-time favorite games on ANY system. Likewise, Dead Ops Arcade on Black Ops 1 is a similar game, also one of my favorites... all because of the control scheme.
Not really related to the video, but anyone else ever wanted to travel back in time and show 80's people a game made in 2014, let's say Crysis 3 for an example. How would they react?
Damn, I was wanting to see how they handled Mutoid Man on the NES. I had Smash TV on the Game Gear, and I could never beat it before the batteries ran out.
How was it? I only played it on SNES and the arcade. I didnt even know they made a NES version, or a GG, til recently, or at least long after it came out.
Zack Schilling I haven't played the GG version since I was a little kid, but from what I remember it was fun. Fun enough I kept trying and failing to beat it on car trips before the batteries crapped out. :-P The SNES version was obviously better thanks to screen size and control schemes, but the GG version had that great metal *ching* sound when you shot things. I LOVED that sound.
They so went into the future, saw dead ops, went back in time and made this game. Why can't old nes game be creative instead of copying all our modern fucking games, GTFO.
I criticized Pat in other videos before, basically for acting like a clown in these videos, making them hard to watch (not my kind of humor), so it's only fair that I also congratulate him for showing us he can be likeable as he was in this video. Actually enjoyed his presence there, this time. Hope any future visits are like this one.
I remember playing this game in the coin-op days. Didn't play it much, but I did admire this fresh take on the Robotron game. I had no idea that a NES powered version of the game even existed, or that it looked this good. Thanks for this episode of the Monday series. :)
I've passed on the NES version of Smash TV because of the odd control solution. Holding two controllers gets uncomfortable before too long, although the twin D-pads most closely resembles the coin-op's control scheme. I stick with the SNES version most of the time, as well as the Xbox LIVE Arcade version for the 360, which is quite good. What surprised me here was how reasonably close to the original game that the NES version is. The music is quite good, there's some digital (though compressed) voice samples, and the visuals are passable, especially for 8-bit. Smash TV, like Robotron 2084 (and other twin-stick shooters), gets really fun when you're "in the zone" and every move you make is the right one. Avoiding enemies and projectiles becomes instinctual instead of something you have to think about when you're zoned in. Interesting choices in favorite coin-ops. Pat the NES Punk's choice of Rolling Thunder was particularly curious. Maybe I need to spend some more time playing it and see what I'm missing. Great video again, guys!

Also try Mega man 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers,Bionic Commando, Blaster Master, Crystalis, Super Mario bros. 1 and 2. The original tmnt is a fav of mine but it's haaaard and the best hidden gem is the Guardian Legend it would be a classic if anyone had ever heard of it. Also Bucky O'hare is a really good game nobody has ever heard of
He isn't done with AVGN. He'll be back sooner or later. I think his movie took away most of his time in the last 1-2 years so hopefully he should be able to roll out some more AVGN content soon.

Its a twin stick shooter. There are many fantastic examples of this now, like "Super Stardust HD" "Dead Nation" and "Resogun." Thanks for the content guys!
This is my favorite arcade game of all time! I loved the cheesy one liners. "I'd buy that for a dollar" is still a line I use on a daily basis. I really liked the arcade version due to it being gory and the music was great. Memorable boss battles...what is there not to like about this game.
I mean don't get me wrong, he may be a really nice person, in fact I expect him to be, seeing that he's friends with James and Mike who seem to be really cool dudes themselves, although I unfortunately never met them in real life. Not trying to be offensive or anything

Yes, Yes! YES! YES!!! I cannot say it enough, you guys have great taste! This game was always amazing for those who knew it could be played exactly this way. This was a great inspiration for the theme of Monday Night Combat as well! Kudos on playing this, make it longer next time though!
There was an SNES version of Smash TV made. "Super Smash TV" had a similar control scheme, but because of the SNES controller's larger compliment of buttons it worked out much better (the X, Y, B, and A buttons were used like a second control cross).
There's not many NES games I see them play that I am dying to play but after watching this, this game looks like a ton of fun and I can't wait to play it
