I got this PC as part of a bundle. It smells strongly of nicotine. I benchmark and upgrade this PC. I may have said DDR4 at some point, this is of course DDR2.
Hello, awesome video :-) My cousin have this computer HP Compaq dc5850. He wants to upgrade RAM and CPU. I know that he can upgrade RAM to 8GB by placing kit of 2x4GB for dual channel or 4x2GB for single channel. What is the best processor that he can put in? It is socket AM2. He wrote with one man that he can put it AMD Phenom II X4 810, which is socket AM3 but he says when you have updated BIOS it should work. I think that it is important to preserve same socket because it is physically thing and the new processor would not fit. Greetings from Slovakia ;-)

What's the cheapest/best upgrade to the CPU for this motherboard? Found someone selling this system for $40 on Facebook and if I decide to get it, I would like to know what upgrade paths are available. Upgrading an LGA775 with used parts was a fun project for me, so I'm wondering how an AMD system would fair.
