By popular request, here is a version of somatic tracking that is 15 minutes long and without music. This version is a "classic" somatic tracking exercise, similar to my ten minute version at • Somatic Tracking for P... . This track does not contain parts work and simple and straightforward.
Somatic tracking is an exercise to help you change your brain and body's neural and chemical responses to your dizziness symptoms (spinning, rocking, heaviness, nausea, floatiness, etc.)
This 15-minute version of the exercise will teach your brain to respond to the unpleasant sensations you feel without alarm. This creates new neural pathways and connections in your brain (neuroplasticity) that will help you reduce your symptoms.
The goal of the exercise is not to get rid of the dizziness or related symptoms. The goal of the exercise is to teach your brain that it is safe and in no danger. It doesn't matter whether the dizziness changes, or gets better or worse while you are tracking it.
You can find a 10-minute version of somatic tracking here: • Somatic Tracking for P...
And my personal favorite, a 20-minute version of somatic tracking with parts work here: • Somatic Tracking 2 for... @jewels8963 I was never completey free of sensations. When I did my interview with Yonit, I was about 90% free and I'm still in that 90ish range. I decided to stop in at the Steady Coach community for a month if you want to talk more there. It has a nominal fee.

Thanks for this! I had the weirdest thing happen -- I started focusing on the sensation of tightness and swelling around my throat that's been making me super anxious for the past few days, but after focusing on it for only a few minutes, it was replaced by a really intense tingling and heaviness across my chest! So I focused on that for awhile instead, and now, a few minutes after finishing the meditation, both sensations have quieted down a good bit. Did anyone else experience a major transition of sensations like this? 🤯

Hi Dr. Yonit, I’ve been experiencing dizziness for the past 9-10 months. The day after I discovered your channel about two weeks ago, I began to feel a new sensation of constant unsteadiness (feeling like I’m gonna fall over, motion sensitivity, my body feels heavy if I lean forwards backwards or sideways even slightly). It’s been really debilitating, hasn’t stopped since it’s started, and very difficult to stop thinking about. I was wondering if this is expected or if you think this is something to be worried about? Why do you think this is happening to me? Thank you so much for making these videos I’ve been gaining a lot of clarity from you.
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach Год назад
Hi Julia - posting what I replied to your last comment, I am sorry you are experiencing this, it is not only common but actually expected for symptoms to change this way. Sometimes people start overfocusing on symptoms when they first find my channel and this can temporarily make things ramp up. Take some breathers away from dizziness content. The symptoms do not usually stay elevated.

Thank you Dr. Yonit. I have wet smelly ear wax that affects my hearing in one ear. When I used Debrox cleaner it got a little better and it seems to have improved my dizziness. Is that possible or am I just imagining it. Thank you so much.

Ear wax does not cause dizziness. But having an ear clogged with wax can make you feel disoriented.

I know most people with PPPD have the visual vertigo and swaying and dizziness that is more floaty, but have you encountered patients who have all of that as well as real vertigo attacks? My swaying has gotten a lot better and I’m able to tell myself it’s not a real issue with my brain, but have been getting vertigo attacks that last about 15-20 seconds followed by static in my ears for a few minutes, and those are a lot harder for me tell myself I’m safe and it’s all part of the process. Curious what you think!
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach Год назад
Yes indeed. Technically vertigo is not part of PPPD but I think that’s an arbitrary distinction for many people. Vertigo does often have a physical cause like BPPV but not always. I see lots of people with “migraine” who have vertigo and recover using the same methods discussed here for PPPD.

How do you d this for symptoms that are related to moving around, looking around or being active. If I sit still I don’t have many symptoms at all
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach 7 месяцев назад
Great question, for this I would recommend the graded exposure exercise or somatic walking. You can also move around while you do this and ignore the instruction to be still. ru-vid.com/group/PLFf7T0374CmAn9xRDFvUpcrwC1OZmMpHR

Dr Yonit. I have a question. You say that these exercises will quiet your dizziness symptoms, but when you have BPPV or vestibular migraine these are conditions caused by real physiological issues, with a migraine it's your brain and BPPV is the crystals in your ears (usually). So i understand using these techniques to quiet the anxiety and FFF response, but if you have a true medical condition how can you stop the dizziness or vertigo? I do understand neuroplasticity. So sometimes i can stop the anxiety cycle, but I'm still dizzy. And still find it hard to go about my day. Thank you so much for clearing this up for me 😊
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach 10 месяцев назад
Hi there, BPPV is truly a physical cause so yes you’re right, it will quiet the anxiety and not resolve the symptoms but make them more tolerable. It will also prevent the symptoms from becoming chronic. Migraine is different. Migraine by definition usually has no physical tissue cause. Yes, migraine produces physiologic changes in the brain but these are reversible and preventable. This video explains more about migraine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CPE6rcDZQ0k.htmlsi=8YCrHZEE1FXjaGkY

Find yourself a GOOD vestibular therapist and they can clear the crystals. It’s not very fun. But then you will likely have more confidence.
@suzannemartin6817
@suzannemartin6817 7 месяцев назад
@the steady coach. I have a related question. I had complex BPPV in late summer into fall of 22. Took about six visits to clear it all out but I had PPPD too and also diagnosed VM. The thing is that over time the Primarily PPPD symptoms (which we’re getting better with exposure and confidence that the Crystals were gone) began to be replaced ( or added to) with VM. Now I pretty much have some type of VM every day! It just changes in intensity. My struggle with screens has gotten markedly worse too! Nobody has any explanation. Do you have any thoughts! Thanks

@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach 10 месяцев назад
“Work” for a symptom means you’re really scared of the symptom and that can be counterproductive. You want to try to avoid fighting it, just see if you can spend time with the insomnia and not fight it. I know that is incredibly hard.
