I'm glad young people like you understand that some old people is right some times, I don't know how old you are but let me tell you, when you hit 40 you will say to yourself "Man I really didn't know anything when I was young!" I'm talking not only NBA but life in general, we old heads are right more often than you realize and you will see in 20 years when some young 20 year old guy will try to outsmart you and you will have only 2 options, try to be polite and make him understand or juts be quiet and wait until he will grow older. I thought LeBron and MJ were closer to each other but as I watched a video comparison between last year game LA vs the Hornets compared to Wizard vc Hornets in 2001 so both MJ and LeBron at the same age I changed my mind. Beside the stats and the result, I really realized that as much as they push the narrative that we never saw anything like LeBron, in that comparison (again same age both players!) it's pretty obvious that MJ was running up and down the court and defending and being as great as possible, when LeBron was actually resting on d and some NBA analists and announcers are actually saying that it's ok for him to rest on the court!!! My man, it's a generational thing for the new generation to act like their stars and their generation is the best. In 20 years from now, the new gen will be defeding Lebron and this generations stars from their kids thinking their generation is the best. Being an old head, we are also experienced in that. It's due to a lack of historical knowledge due to being young. People forget we have seen not just Lebrons entire career, but that of Kobe and MJ and some even of Magic and Kareem etc. Since Michael Jordan was not always the GOAT and the title has been passed on at least 3 times, thinking that old people don't think Lebron is the GOAT out of nostalgia is a lousy argument, since if not Wilt/Russel or Kareem wouldve still been the GOAT with even Kareems GOAT status being in question with Magic and Bird before MJ took over. Hell in reality, Kareems has better accolades than James does and we don't consider him the GOAT either and multiple others have about interchangable and especially in regards of chips better careers than Lebron. Nostalgia does not work as strong as being a prisoner of the moment because one is actually based on historical knowledge and the other is based on the now. A lot of the youngins havent even seen the prime of Kobe, Shaq and Timmy, merely on highlight plays. They lack all the context to make a decent claim.

The only reason LeBron is always compared to MJ is because he always says he is the goat. It used to be Kobe that was always compared to MJ, but he never compared himself to MJ, the people did. Kareem, Magic, Bird, Russell, etc. are always brought up in the top ten players of all time. The reason they are not always brought in the goat conversation is because they never said things like they were the greatest. The younger generation is mostly the ones that believe LeBron is better. They would not really think that if he did not keep saying that. Only a person that does not completely believe in himself would keep saying that. If he says it enough times, he could covince himself. He would eventually get other people to believe him. He makes the statements that he knows will always have people talking about him.
