The studio tracks are all outstanding...and really, you should listen to them all. But once you get thru those, the live performances are a completely other world. The studio tracks are a snapshot in time of what the song was at that moment. Once a track was recorded and an album released, the songs expanded and grew in live shows.....improvisation led them in all kinds of directions from night to night, and they never played a song the same way twice in a live setting. Incredible musicianship allowed them to take their music anywhere they wanted at any time.

I'm 57 years old and remembered this song every day on the radio from my babysitter's house before I was old enough to go to elementary school. LMAO!!! My mom was a hippie chick. She introduced me to the greatest music. To this day, her favorite group is Pink Floyd...

I’ve always loved this specific song from this specific show… my favorite part is when they add that rockabilly part before the end. To me that’s a symbolic moment that honors the beginnings of rock n roll and also showcase what rock had become at that time

The original album version is still really interesting as a sound sculpture. Jimmy Page oversaw the studio recordings, and he made them (or so he said in a magazine interview) exactly as he wanted them to be.

I saw LZ in 75 and 77. Live they actually make the hair on my neck tingle. Nothing like 2 and a half hours of LZ live. Both shows I saw are on RU-vid as bootlegs. Terrible sound quality but never thought I'd hear either again ever.

Recently discovered this channel. Loving the content mate. Now you’re deep into the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole. I highly recommend watching the live version of Dazed and Confused from the same gig as this one. MSG ‘73. They take the song places you wouldn’t imagine. Keep up the good work.

They were and are the best to ever do it. All four were masterful and contributed to what the Zeppelin sound was. Unmatched musicianship that crafted unbelievably good songs - one after another. I also recommend listening to their entire catalogue as they simply did not put a bad track out.

Fantastic reaction! Now you have met the boys in the band and have a sense of the live performances. I think that this will be the best way for you to get to know who is doing what musically, as you can see them playing although it is hard not to be totally mesmerised by Robert Plant, the vocalist. The electronic devise that the guitarist was using in the chaotic transition section is a Theramine and it is great to see how much fun Jimmy Page is having with it. It is great to watch you react to these because it reminds you of when you first heard them and also makes you listen with fresh ears. i would highly recommend "Dazed and Confused" as your next track which features Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a violin bow , maybe do the studio version first then do the live performance at Madison Square garden from 73 , which is 30 minutes long and is a life changing experience . Having said that you will find your own way through the back catalogue and you'll love it which ever way you do it. We just want you to enjoy it, we certainly are!

This is one track from their movie "The song remains the same" filmed at MSG. I saw it over 20 times as a kid for free at the local military theater. It shows their manager, the late, great Peter Grant (ex-wrestler who changed the game for bands going from 50% to 90% of the gate and also getting Led Zeppelin their own label to sign other bands (Swan Song - signed Bad Company) within their label). You also see each band member do a skit to a song, John's is with his dragster! RIP - you also learn about the theft of one of the nights door money etc etc.

Yes, this performance is "an experience"! 😳🤪🥴😎 There is another live version, from their "How the West was Won" album, which has some cool additions to the medley in the middle of the song. It's great how they pay homage to the 50's Rock n' Roll pioneers. Check it out! 🤙🤘😎

Try some music by YES one of the greatest progressive rock groups of all time and my favorite band. You haven't reacted to them at all. They have many long songs that are masterpieces. Not your usual music. Some good ones include "Roundabout", "Close to the Edge", "The Gates of Delirium". "Awaken", "Turn of the Century"... Loads of good ones.

Cool. Glad to see you tried them out live. :) When doing them live, I highly recommend you do any song from this concert or the few they have from the 1975 concert at Earls Court first. The live stuff before this concert, they don't have their full "persona" together yet and it can be rough around the edges. It's fine once you heard the other stuff but it pails to what they would become. The stuff after 75, the sound mix is just off on almost everything and Page started having "H" problems that affected his performances. And the most of the stuff you see on here are remastered bootlegs. The one exception is the 2006? Reunion concert. thats pretty good but they are all old men in that so.
