OMG I didn't noticed it until now, but the dialogue Rouge is having with Omega in the Looming Shadow comic is the exact same as the dialogue you can hear in the Enemy Territory stage in the Shadow DLC. That's so awesome!
I think the sonic forces timeline goes like this. Sonic Mania good ending - Sonic Forces Rise of Infinite - Sonic Forces Stress Test - Sonic Forces Looming Shadow - Episode Shadow - Sonic Forces Moment of Truth - Sonic Forces.
it's sort of in between the start and prologue of Forces, but the prologue is at the end of Episode Shadow so moment of Truth DOES take place before Forces
Many days without new material. The waiting was exhausting. To be honest there was a point when I wasn't interested about Sonic, not anymore. those were dark days but thanks to Sonic Boom (the TV show) and Sonic Mania, I didn't give up. The Blue Blur will be always in my life!
I'm wondering if Forces would work as an independent mini-series, or as part of the IDW line. Both would be nice, and while sticking to an expansion of the Forces characters and plot would be easier, I always enjoyed how the comics tied the video game lore into the overall world, with they're own spin (still waiting for a Lost World adaptation with a new take on the Deadly Six). A Forces adaptation has a lot of potential either way, but feels like something that could use some build up, with plenty of world building done to give Eggman's takeover a worldwide effect. That, and I'd love to see some expansion on Infinite, on backstory and powers.
I would like to see a Forces mini series. Hopefully see Infinite fleshed out some more, see what kind torture sonic went through it was implied in the game he was tortured for months, see the world ruled by Eggman.
8:31 "By the way, outside of Sonic 06 and Sonic Generations, we never figure out how Silver travels through time." I'm just going to assume you never played the Sonic Rivals series or the DS version of Sonic Colors, all of which are canon and I'd recommend you to play them if you want to understand and comprehend more about the Sonic universe and its lore, but it's just a suggestion.
That was fantastic, Matt. Love the review of the Sonic Forces comic. I’m not surprised you know lots about Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania’s stories respectively. I wonder what you think of the ending of Sonic Forces. BTW, I like the minor Archie Sonic shoutouts in the comic. The Arachny Beryl was the Moebius version of the Chaos Emeralds Scourge used. I will always enjoy your reviewing of Sonic or Mega Man content. This is a nice time to see your videos fresh off from seeing the epic season two finale of Sonic Boom. As I said before, after I get the Switch, I’ll play Sonic Forces, but probably after I play Sonic Mania. Sonic Mania is cool. Anyways, hope you have a great next couple of days, Matt.
Sonic Mania + Sonic Forces: The Tie-In Prequel Comics + Sonic Forces (and episode Shadow) + Sonic IDW Comics = A MASTERPIECE Sonic Forces haters be like: *cries and regrets* WE ARE SO SORRY, SEGA!!!
I honestly still think these tie-in comics help out with Forces' narrative despite the writting in game not being on par the tie in comics which is a shame cause I felt the guys behind the story to these comics could've been able to make Forces' story better instead of relying on the Colors and Generations Writters again.
Which just kind of supports people's arguments that Ian should get a try at doing the script for the next Sonic game that will most likely come out in the future.
I seriously hope Sonic Team can get the message from others cause I honestly prefer a serious story with some light hearted tones to balance it out compared to the saturday morning cartoon vibe every Sonic Game Story has been getting lately which is kind of boring especially since if I want to watch a Saturday Morning Cartoon Plot I'd watch an actual cartoon which is kinda hard to find something good lately on TV anyway. Sonic just needs some fresh blood for the story department cause the Archie Comics had a lot of darker undertones why can't the fucking games do the same?
Wait, so the only reason that Infinite is the way he is now is because he touched the Phantom Ruby ONCE, and sided with Eggman just like that? Like, okay? Where's the buildup, it all happens in one page and goes by so quick, then it ends.
how come Eggman left the master emerald on angel island? he could've taken and destroyed it rendering the chaos emeralds useless! (granted the chaos emeralds may not play a role in forces but I think Eggman should've considered it to give the resistance less options)
I kept wondering if Infinite would be the Sega equivalent to Enerjak. But since Sonic is still capable of inflicting damage on the jackal and still lost (Didn't even need Super) that doesn't seem to be the case. Oh whoops "SPOILER ALERT" he loses.
I seen some people didn't like How Infinite was potrade as a character and a villian especially the Episode Shadow which I can understand from their perspective but to me, I don't know I do still like Infinite. He may not be the best but he is still pretty cool and interesting. Even though he has flaws. XD
SuperDarkSide X5, there is no problem with Infinite backstory. The real problem was SEGA hyping up Infinite as the ultimate villian that Sonic and friends will have to face. But, at the emd of the day the character fall flat on its face to be a dissapointment. Hell even the theories on who Infinite was more deep and complex then the actually backstory that we got.
TheBlackBlur 1. Back story was just a rip off. 2. He is overhyped grabage. Hell Eggman surpassed Infinite and yet he got beaten by base form Morden and Classic Sonic and some guy they picked of the street...
I think the Prequel comic series should of have more issues than 4 they could of added some soft of side story with blaze, cream,Big,the Babylons rogues, the deadly six,Eggman Nega and metal sonic of be episode dlcs for sonic Forces
I have a question for all of you, for those who read the comic and played forces. combine all the times of each level and then time yourself of reading this comic as slowly as you can. Is you reading this comic longer then all the main forces levels that you played through? (don't count ep shadow or the bonus missions) I would do it myself but I really don't want to play this one
Im confused.I though the scar that Shadow did to Infinite was that white strike on his right eye,but its not since Infinite had that before he even joined forces with Eggman.... So...What scar did Shadow do to Infinite..?
