The game is alright but the story and some of the animations is the best thing of the game yes! To me, I think what this game lacks is the HIGH ACTION SPIRIT of the older modern Sonic games. The gameplay and sections is alright, but for most of the open zone gameplay there's not much going on event wise outside of the cutscenes and not much to invest in other than flavor dialogue you have from spending memory tokens. I need me some more NPCs to invest my time into with quests (alongside cutscenes) like the NPCs in Sonic Adventure having their own stories.
And yet I like how it fits into the abandoned society tone of the game. I want a potential spiritual sequel to this game to actually brighten things up into the Sonic stuff we've had before when it comes to having more budget and stakes in each story scene.
I mean, I had an enjoyable time enjoyable enough to 100% the game before update three which I honestly think update three made the game worse because of the difficulty spike going so I’m pretty sure forgot how to overdose
I remember sonic being so colorful, this is not the sonic I grew up with. Dark, evil, edgy, just make a shadow the hedgehog sequel at this point if ya wanna be dark and dingy
I really do not agree with Flynn writing for Sonic. Tails' dialogue made me pull my fucking hair out. You want better writing? Play the Yakuza games, play the persona games.
