@@TheSwordsman100 I don't take Tails' Tube seriously honestly. It's pretty tongue and Cheek in how its presented. That said two worlds was blatantly not canon from the start because of SA2 having Green Hill in the same world as City Escape.

i don't think two worlds was ever canon, i think what izuka said was mistranslated or the translator misinterperted what he said. firstly it's important to note that izuka was asked a botched question in english, which got trasnlated to japanese, got the answer in japanese, then translated back to english. no doubt in my mind that there was something lost in translation there. anothier thing is that the word used for "world" in japanese can also be used to mean words like "society" "country" or "universe". so izuka might have meant that sonic takes place in 2 societies/countries rather then worlds, and was misinterperted by the translator. the last possiblity is that izuka meant "two worlds" figuratively and not literally

Unfortunately these days we mostly just have to look at their actions and not their words

​@@manwiththeplan4446 I know I'm late but Shadow wasn't bad in Forces. He cared about his fellow members of team dark and when he interacted with sonic he wasn't acting like a jerk. The IDW comics actually did his character bad.

I wouldn’t really use the encyclo-speed-ia for any official clarification unless supported by other sources. Ian (he wrote/produced the book) made a ton of mistakes, most could’ve been easily avoided if he looked into the source material. There’s an entire Twitter thread on this but as an example, iirc there was a part in the encyclopedia where it claims after doing a “strike dash” in the game “Sonic Chaos” Sonic is vulnerable for some time, when in the actual game Sonic actually gets temporary invincibility after strike dashing. There’s also stuff in the book that incorrectly sequences a series of events in a game’s story. Why did I mention this? Because the claim that chronicles is non canon is debatable as Sega has been back and forth on this. The devs of the game in an IGN interview said the game was made to expand the video game Sonic lore. Then allegedly an ex Sega employee claimed it was non canon. However, Sonic Generations supports it being canon, as if you remember, Rouge calls Sonic “big blue” when talking to him after being saved. This wasn’t the first time Rouge called him that, the first time was in Sonic Chronicles. And secret rings was confirmed to be canon in the same game as well. I’ll see if I can dig up anything else for it being canon but my point is that the encyclopedia isn’t an all knowing object, it has plenty of mistakes and IMO other sources will need to support it’s claims, otherwise it would be ambiguous whether it’s actually true.

@@arkhamknight620 Considering it's the only game whose canon status is referenced and the legal mess surrounding that game, I can believe Sega just wanted to drop that game and wipe their hands of it. And the nickname doesn't really hold much water considering Generations was released before the book, so they could've changed their minds. So until Sega or Sonic Team change their minds, again, or the statement is contradicted, I have no reason to deny it. This is an official product, after all. Obviously, that doesn't mean it isn't bridled with flaws, but that's the current stance.

@@captainhenson41 Being official doesn't mean anything when the games themselves disprove it. Not saying this isn't, but there are many official products of this sort that aren't canon.

@@bunsmasterbunny We have no reason to believe this book isn't canon. Does it have issues, sure, but so do the games when it comes to continuity. As far as I can tell, nothing disproves Chronicles' non-canon status. The fact it's the only game in that entire book to have its canon status stated should say it all.

Let's see how current Sonic Team uses it here

Nah if anything I LIKE that Sonic is not unstoppable. Him having some form of vulnerability is very refreshing. That's why I thought it was stupid the Werehog/Dark Gaia energy didnt corrupt Sonic

@@littenfire3563 i actually think the werehog not corrupting sonic actually strengthened his character. but even then in unleashed sonic is shown to be a bit vulnerable at points. like in the intro cutscene where sonic was getting zapped as super sonic he was very clearly in pain (something we don't see much) or when sonic turns into the werehog for the 2nd time right after beating apotos day, sonic says "so when the sun goes down, i turn into...THIS?" which i interpret as sonic being upset or at least frustrated that he's gonna have to deal with turning into the werehog every night (i know right after that chip asks sonic if he's ok and sonic says he's fine, but i think sonic is lying there so chip doesn't worry). at least at the beginning of the game sonic has some form of insecurity about people not recognizing him in his werehog form as we see after the cutscene where we first see amy (i wish this were expanded upon more though) and lastly right before the fight with dark gaia and sonic gets the werehog sucked out of him, sonic is on the floor looking exhausted and tells chip to run, as if he doesn't believe that he wouldn't be able to make it out alive otherwise. these are a lot of moments but i do like how these are here as it shows that sonic can have at least a bit of vulnerability at times

@@TheRealMightyEmperor with such a big company, you are bound to have people working on many different projects, the only people staying on a specific projects all the way through are usually directors and such. New Genesis' development started all the way back in 2017 when the Hedgehog engine 2 was pretty much brand new. It wouldn't surprise me if the engine used New Genesis as initial testing ground since it is THE biggest money maker for SEGA, so much so that it apparently makes up 1/3 of SEGA's total annual revenue... which is massive.

I really want to see multiple playable characters. Very mixed signals on that though, the leaks disagree, the gameplay looks Sonic only but the origins data mines suggest we might get other characters.

I don't actually think Knuckles acts as stupid in Drone Home as he does in Boom, Drone Home is mostly a comedy short story with whacky visuals, so it makes sense for it to be silly fun. So, I don't think, going forward, they will be making Knuckles into an idiot.

I think sometimes Japanese people don't know what they are talking about and be confusing the lore and confusing the audience in response, they keep mixing things up and not being fully clear on what they're trying to say. I don't know if they do this on purpose but alot of them can't articulate themselves that well. Especially when it comes to canon and non canon, they aren't always clear and never just outright say things.

I don't think you can say my theory is 100% not true with the information currently available. I may not be correct about everything, but a lot of what we do know points towards a renewed direction for the series. Translations don't matter yet because they are not the games script, but interviews. What I have heard can only be so wrong (and I don't think it's wrong at all, they only had to translate 3 paragraphs).

@@TheRealMightyEmperor Sorry. I think what I meant to say is that with how many times they ‘reset’ Sonic and crew, so does the game design. However, Sega made the choice for Sonic to be like this. I don’t think momentum is coming back any time soon. My issue is the lack of identity with this franchise that Sega continues to squander each and every year. And it just depresses me, because I look at the fans who are very passionate and want nothing but the best for Sonic. But Sega has shown again they have no idea what to do with it. And I can say right now, Frontiers is in danger of failing due to some recent news by other game devs who are professionals pointing out flaws. I don’t know if fans can take another L.

To fix some of these issues would require doing it from scratch. But if the video above is true and taking a look at Sega’s track record…what are they doing to this Hedgehog? At this point, give this hedgehog to somebody else. They already nearly killed him 3 times.

Master Emerald will be in the animation special, so it could show up. Hyper is less likely due to SEGA statements on the form in the past. Both still fit into reset theory.

Truth is Sonic Battle had already we swept under the rug. It's last chance was in Sonic Chronicles but that was the 06 of spin offs, so much like Adventure, battle has been forgotten
