Nice overview Rauri! With all the rumors out there it sounds like it’ll be a pretty good camera and a nice upgrade from the A7III. Me personally Im going to stick with my A7SIII but what I’d like to see and quite frankly they need to make sure it has so that it can compete with its competitors is to get that new sensor, 4k 60, 10 bit, flip screen and the same menu system as the A7SIII. To me that would be the perfect hybrid camera. Great stuff sir I hope all is well out there.

I've been waiting for A7IV for a long time 😅 I want to get back into photography and this seems like the perfect all around camera! Can't wait for the announcement. Hopefully it's not over the 2,500.00 price tag 😅

Your Nikon system is great, I've been tempted to shift to Nikon a LOT ... so to answer your question, I will probably get the A7IV...but it depends on it's actual specs/price. The Z7 is out of my price range, and the Z6ii is quite similar to the A7III, so let's see! 🤩

Looks like some great specs - seems like a smallish thing, but the articulating screen could be so useful. I wish my Z7 had that. What made you go with Sony when you were choosing a system? Also - congrats on the big 1k mate! 🎉

Thanks mate! I reckon the A74 will be another smashing hybrid just like when the A7iii came out, hopefully not as expensive as the A7r or A7s lineup which is a bit expensive for me. I got the Sony A7iii as at the time it was leading the mirrorless market and competitors didn't have much, nowadays there are a lot more mirrorless/hybrid options, main selling points for me was the battery life, autofocus, weight, general usability I found suited my style well, and lens options! Was/is a good video/photo camera, thanks for watching 😁

Thank you for the video, I don't own a Camera for my Content channel, I've been using a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra but have been wanting a legit camera so I don't have to use my phone anymore. I was going to go for the A7iii as I felt it was a great camera for the price but I have been wanting to keep my videos at 4k 60p so I was gonna save up more and get the A7Siii but decided to hold off a little longer to see some legit reviews of the A7IV before I make my final choice.

Nice wish list and compilation mate! I hate the menu on my A7III but have learned to live with it. I’m on the fence myself if I’ll upgrade or look at A7RIVa. I even danced with the idea of going back to Nikon but that seems very costly!

Thanks mate. Not sure when it will be available in India yet. Generally the release starts in US / Japan markets. And with the chip shortages there may not be a great number available to ship straight away. You’d be better off getting something temporary, preorder the 4 when it comes out

It's a really needed camera in the marketplace if it comes in with all these rumors being true. New menu, 33 mp's, 4k60 10 bit, $2500, that's a real sweet spot. The 60MP A7riv is just too much even for landscapes. I love my Fuji's but sometimes I want just a little more... Hopefully this will be available to buy before 2023!

I shall be watching your experience with this camera very closely. Interestingly I found the Sony menu system relatively easy to navigate around so I'm not sure why people complain about it. I think if I was to go over to Sony then it would be the A7R series because I've never had the freedom of high resolution, especially with regard to cropping. Good luck with your purchase. Everything crossed that it gives you what you are looking for. Stay safe out there.

@@RauriBarron As an ex-Canon user I'd have to say that I found the Sony menu easier to navigate. The Canon R5 menu took a bit of figuring out - I got there eventually, but the Sony was definitely quicker initially for me. Stay safe sir

It will be a "dip a toe in the water" exercise, very similar in many respects to the actions I took when I was considering jumping from Canon to Olympus back in 2013. Yeah that’d be good. The R6 here in Aus is like $3,700 so quite expensive, I hope the A74 isn’t that pricey but it may be!

If the price will be around $2,500 as expected, I can't see the A7iv coming without 10-bit 4K internal recording. Especially if it has 15 stops of dynamic range. An 8-bit camera couldn't possibly achieve 15 stops of dynamic range. So, I'll be snagging it if this comes true.

I suspect for $2500 US the a7IV may be a better option for serious videographers but for photography the now $1700 a7iii still offers the speed and IQ for great images and at a significant savings. I have two a7iii bodies and will pick up an a7IV for improved video performance.

Damn I thought this was going to be a new Walkman release - have Sony not given up on cameras yet?!? 😜 this was good mate. Honestly I almost want one….but my Canon R6 is so good at keeping me warm during the winter months that a camera without that central heating feature….in 2022…..just seems behind the times 😁 great vid - I’ve seen it before but the ‘not the real a7iv’ but still cracked me up - happy birthday gone mate and congrats again 🍾

Haha don't worry, Sony are still innovating, isn't Canon due for retirement soon? 😉 They can only work for a few hours before having to tap out for a rest haha. That canon auto heat function isn't suitable for Aussie markets, we need built in aircon. Just messing around of course, all cameras are great! If all true, Sony moves ahead of the pack again, much better than Canon R6, Nikon z6ii, Fuji XT-4, Panasonic s5. Just like a7iii set it ahead of the pack by a lot, they are going to take a big lead again.

Well said, the A7iii was ahead of the pack when released, will be interesting to see if the 4 can repeat this as other mirrorless cams are great. Thankfully Sony still has a few strengths, their autofocus, the lens line up, and reliable hardware/battery life, and not as expensive as some other brands. Thanks again mate
