You have a really nice setup and a great flow! Thanks for making this video :) I already have this camera and I'm just now realizing it overheats easily even after changing the settings. So I use it for recording RU-vid videos, but I use the A6400 for livestreaming video games.
Im still rocking my A7II and still taking wonderful photos! I would like to upgrade myself, but its not really necessary. The A7III + A7IV would be a huge leap coming from the A7II I'm sure!
I picked up, the Black Mist trio this past weekend. It blooms the highlights around high contrast areas in landscape photography very nice, (backlit leaves and trees.)
For the solar eclipse (April 2024) I bought the Lee Solar filter and the Nisi V7 holder. I’ve never used a filter holder. Am I to loosen the screws to allow the Lee filter to slide in? I was told the Lee filter fits snugly.
I carried a 16-35mm GM lens for years. But, I rarely used it. In fact, I rarely shoot wider than 24mm. If I want to go wider, I use the 20mm G lens. In the past I've used the 14mm GM which is excellent. So, basically I use two lenses. The 24-70mm GM II and the 70-200mm GM II. Those two lenses cover 90% of what I shoot. I will use the 1.4x with the 70-200 when I travel or the 200-600mm G when I'm home. I just ordered the Sigma 500mm DG DN Sport. But, it will be more for wildlife than landscapes.
First time watching your videos and I came to understand the difference between 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8. Great video, great explanation and to the point. Thanks Rauri, I might make a video myself when I get mine :)
Lovely video. My favourite shots were of the large tree from a low POV. Was that handheld? Also, question about focus area and settings; if you remember, what Sony focus settings did you use for that particular shot? Would you, or do you already have a video, on focusing and focal points etc.? Cheers.
Nice to see you out shooting with this lens. I find it great. I do find some solar flare issues when shooting into the sun (sunsets/rise). Do you suffer the same issue?
thanks for the effort and sharing. i have the 28-200 tamron and like your thinking about impactful field of view-wide and long. how are the optics on the tamron 17-28? and has dust been a problem with the sigma 100-400 as it has been for the sigma 24-70? thumbs up.
Nikon has always had good screens on there camera's especially since 2014 onwards. My Nikon D5500 has a better screen than the Sony A74 I found that out like last month as I was doing street photography in Central London as they where impressed with my Nikon D5500 screen resolution despite the fact the Nikon D5500 cameout in 2015
Man now I’ll be dreaming about this camera! lol jk I’m already dreaming about it! Matter fact, I already know all these things about the camera lol thanks for helping me dream though!
i have the V5 pro. would like to upgrade JUST to the V7 holders, which is sold as the V7 Alpha, remove the alpha adaptor ring and use my V5 82mm adaptor ring and CPL - i can't get an answer from local sources. trying to save some $$$$$
I currently use Sony 16-35 GM, 24-105 G, and 100-400 GM. The 16-35 Sony-Zeiss f4 is great in the center, but just plain mushy on the sides and corners. I returned 3 copies, it was so bad. The 16-35 f4 PZ G is, however, a great choice. My current two lens, lightweight solution is the 16-35 GM and Tamron 28-200. I will be moving to the Sony 20-70 f4 G and 70-200 f4 Macro G pair, because they are so amazingly sharp!
I got the a7iii and regret it because I should’ve gone for the a7IV to put up some videos in the RU-vid, I wanted for more video but also the pictures as I have canon lenses mostly
It's a hybrid camera if you don't need a hybrid camera then it's not for you. Even a good stills camera from about 10 years ago (5D mark 3 maybe) is probably still a v.good stills camera. Not the case with video! The 8bit video out of the A73 just doesn't cut it once you've been using 10bit.
@@Crazy_Dashcam_Videos I don't have acess to a computer (Lightroom mobile is really the same but basically simplifies the features on the PC version and has some missing high quality features
Hi Peter, thank you mate. Always good to hear from you. Hope you’re well. I wish I had the time and energy to do RU-vid but I don’t. I’m reachable on my personal Insta and Facebook. Will catch up on your videos mate.
@@RauriBarron Good to hear, Rauri. I know the feeling - I took a few months off myself. I closed my Insta account years ago, and I never use FB, so I won't able to jump into either of those places. Hopefully I'll see you around these parts again sometime. I'd still like to go out and shoot something together one day. Take care of yourself and your family, mate.
@@PETERFRITZPHOTO Ah that is fair - both Facebook and Insta aren't great. I hope to get back into this again some day, we will see! As you said, I am spending more time with family than editing, as I used up most my time filming/editing. Thanks for reaching out as always. When you're up in Brissy let me know :-)
I own ans use the A7 iii, and it’s a great camera. But for landscapes I struggle to feel like it’s enough…resolution wise. I saw your pics and they are fantastic, by the way…I am thinking of moving to the ar iii as i do a lot of landscape.
I've just brought this tripod, however, I'm deaf and cannot access videos without captions and would therefore appreciate it if you could enable captions. Thank you
hey - buffer with continues shooting in compressed raw is limitless if u use cf cards.. I think it's important to mention.. endless buffer is nice to have
Hi I would love to hear your advice here. I have a nikon d5100 (I bought it around 11 years ago) and I want to make an upgrade. I consider myself an amateur photographer, I do mostly photography and I am starting to dive into videography. I am more into street phorography and portraits, I am trying to make it my career in the near future. I have a 50mm lens that does not have an auto focus and it has been a torture for me. Will the sony a7IV be a good upgrade for me? I'm hesitant because of the price. but i feel like if i get it it is going to make a HUGE difference and less frustration over lost shots because of the focus and wasted time changing settings. I'm currently trying to decide to either : 1) get the sony a7iv , 2) get a nikon dslr such as the d850, 3) get a better lens with autofocus im not sure which is the best for me, any advice?
