I dropped my xb40 in a lake it got fully soaked for over 5 seconds. Still use it 2 years later

Love my XB40 after owning it for a few months. Also, the treble can be adjusted in their App, it’s enough treble for anyone I’m sure. It’s a solid speaker imho.

Let me just correct you. That sound limitation on 20% of the battery is same on both speakers, not sure for xb41 since I haven't got one but I can tell you for xb40 cause I have one

DLX Willington can you verify that the 'LiveSoundMode' sounds much better on the 31 than on the 41? Another reviewer claimed that the 41 ads a weird distracting 'echo' effect, which the 31 doesn't, and at least to him the 3D experience was way better on the 31 in 'LiveSoundMode'. I felt the same, comparing THIS review to your other LiveSound-video with the xb31. Could this be?

I have confussion about the comparison of xb 40 and xb41. I cant decide which I want to buy. The xb 40 costs 120 € and xb 41 costs 170 €. So that is a 50 euro gap between those two . And the difference between them is that xb 41 is a little bit louder, has better LED and built - up quality, full water resistance and micro USB charge port. It has a terrible live sound mode, but I do not really care, I am kinda a party guy and all I want to have is BASS. I dont know if these features are enough to pay 50 € (57 USD) more. Could you please help me to decide? Also I heard some rumours that xb 41 turns off bass boost when it reaches maximum volume of the speaker ( 100) . Is it true?

I think the 20-20k frequency response is for BT, not the speaker. It takes a lot to reproduce 20Hz. It's not a subtle effort and necessitates a quite a bit of displacement. Ask me how I know. Most large (+150lb) audiophile speakers struggle to reach -6dB @ 20Hz. And I mean most.

I like the USB charging feature and waterproofing sony added this time, but for me, the sound quality is the priority. Please include frequency range tests to check how low the speakers can go without distortion. The frequency test you did on your video with the title "JBL Flip 4 Compared to JBL Flip 3. Should you upgrade? what's the difference". Sony claims 20hz but I highly doubt it. Help us find out. :-)

Hello my friends: I had the light of my Sony SRS XB40 permanent and stable, meaning no flashing, no DJ, no lighting effects, nothing but just a one color, stable light. But a couple of days ago I touched it something and now I can’t leave just the way I had it. I tried Sony Music Center and Fiestable, they offer “Raven”, “Cold chilling” and many other lighting options, but I don’t see any option to leave the light stable, one single color, no effects, no flashing, nothing else but just a simple stable light. I honestly can't justify spending 250$ for the XB41. The only improvements are the lights, an additional mode, and maybe the material. Just buy an XB40. If I'm going to get another speaker, it will probably be the JBL xtreme 2 after it has a price drop. By then, the reviews will give me a good idea of whether they fixed the battery issues.
