Soul Food at Vonda's Kitchen Newark NJ Ep. 21 

Like many other styles of food and genre, soul food is something I have an affinity for. While taking care of my aunt in SC there was a country store ran by women who knew how to cook, very well. On Fridays and Saturdays they BBQ'ed ribs and chicken. I miss that place greatly.

Vonda's food always hits the spot!!

Vonda has been on the battlefield awhile now! I was first introduced to her food when she was catering! She was a neighbor of my cousin and my cousin engaged her for a family gathering! A very discriminating family of serious cooks,and the food met their approval 😊

I'll have to try it out! A lot of places claim their food is....but on average, the foods good, just not to the point I would want to go back!! I grew up on big mommas food!! Everything was made fresh and from the garden right here in Newark!!

My favorite dinner for years at Vonda's is the Fried Chicken wings, roasted string beans and potato salad. Whenever, I'm there it's my favorite go too.

I love me some collard greens and cabbage without any meat in it as well, olive oil is sufficient some chicken boullion cubes dice onions, on in there with a little bit of red pepper Flakes and garlic powder with the spring water and let it just simmer on down bon Appetit y'all😍

No her food is definitely not hitting I ordered .a few times via Uber Bad mistake . Now it you looking for a real soul food restaurant . One is on south 18 street and Madison avenue. D and J I believe. Or if you looking for a soul food restaurant that doesn't . Serve pork hit up. Mamas barbecue in Maplewood . These have the hood now. Just keeping it a 100
