Got to try some fantastic sea food dishes last week in Sorrento. Took a boat trip to Positano and Amalfi, beautiful places can't wait to go back, lovely friendly people. Amazing sizes on the lemons taste like sweet grapefruit. I could go on and on. Good to see you again on Food Tube Gennaro.
If the world had discovered Gennaro before Emeril he'd be a cooking superstar. He's a syndicated cooking show waiting to happen. Always a pleasure. 😊😊👍🏽👍🏽
Grazie!
My friend Gennaro!! We are in Italy for the first time, and we are now arriving in Salerno very shortly!! Near the Amalfi coast you always talk about :D do you have any advice on where to go out for dinner??
I've never had clams, but I did have lots of mussels when I was younger. When I was young and still living with my parents, we lived close to the shore, and when there was a low tide you could just walk on the sand where the water used to be and collect a ton of mussels. I wonder if clams taste like mussels.
I'd say they do. I actually prefer them in all honesty especially cockles which are the ones we eat in Britain (clams with verticle ridges) I love mussels too! I the texture is softer but the flavour is simalar and stronger. I think the smaller the tastier as I dont like the meaty texture and bland flavour of scallops personally.
I wanna eat it! Could almost smell it oh how much I’m missing this dish from Italy... That one tablespoon of olive oil is like three tablespoons 😂 stile Gennaro
Looks delicous, hello Gennaro, or anyone else out there have a suggestion for this scenario. My wife is Austrian/German and seafood was never in her diet. She would eat a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup on fridays during lenten before she would eat fish. Over the years, i have gotten her to eat cod(has to be mild fish),shrimp, prawns, lobster, and snow crab legs, but i cannot get her to even try the mollusks, clams , mussels, oysters, anyone have a suggestion ? I am all ears, and i am irish, i'll eat about anything, lol
David Milner i thought about that, i'll ask her again. I won't try to trick her into eating it, what i mean by that is i like to deer hunt and she will not eat deer, she has already threatened me,lol, to not sneak deer meat into chili instead of beef. A lot of this is in her head, she was raised to eat beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and it is tough to get her to eat anything else. Took me years to get her eating fish and shrimp, lol.ty for taking time to reply
Steve Logan: With this dish you could remove all the shells right before serving. They are not necessary at all. The clam chowder idea is good and don't forget there is also Manhattan clam chowder. Whichever chowder make sure it is top quality the first try for her, of course:-)
Shayan Givehchian you could forgo the spaghetti and just have the clams or mussels in the same sauce!!! I eat lots of mussels on keto as a great different snack.
