@@flexis4731 Aquí en Colombia hay acentos tan diferentes que tranquilamente podrían ser de países distintos. Por ejemplo, la gente en las montañas del sur occidente del país habla con el mísmo acento andino con que hablan las personas de la sierra ecuatoriana, peruana y boliviana. En cambio los costeños/caribeños hablan parecido a los venezolanos, panameños, dominicanos y demas países caribeños. Cómo viste son 2 acentos totalmente diferentes. Eso pasa porque en la época de la colonia varias regiones se mantuvieron totalmente aisladas unas de otras y desarrollaron costumbres diferentes. Una cosa es la gente que vive en los pueblos del centro del país a casi 3000 msnm (clima frío, montañas, páramo) y otra cosa muy distinta es la gente que vive en la costa (mar, playa, fiesta). Solo hasta mediados del siglo pasado las distintas regiones comenzaron a comunicarse las unas con las otras.

@@Jurico_Noes And some words we use are also Mexican words due to the Acapulco-Manila galleon trade. Words like "palenque" or "changui (tsangge)" are commonplace. In another Filipino language called Chavacano, we say "Chingga" just like Mexicans do. 😆

Aunque hablamos el español cada uno evolucionó según su región y de los aportes extranjeros que fue recogiendo cada uno de los países,por eso tenemos mucha diferencia y que nos cuesta entender entre países.
Gracias a los memes es que sabemos la mayoría pero no solo los países por separado si no que en nuestras propias regiones hay cambio de acento por ejemplo en Argentina no es lo mis me o el porteño que el misionero
En realidad no hay tanta diferencia y nos entendemos mejor de lo que creemos. No sé por qué se está extendiendo tanto esa idea de que no nos entendemos, cuando desde el punto de vista lingüístico hay estudios que afirman todo lo contrario.

In Spain exists both "farmacia" and "droguería", but they are different kind of business. "Farmacia" is the place where medicines are sold. Also "botica" (not "potica" like they wrote in the video) is an old word which means basically the same. "Droguería" is a kind of store where they sell many things, like shampoo, hair dye, all kinds of beauty products usually for women, cleaning products like bleach, ammonia, etc... almost anything apart from food or drinks, I guess. Today, you can buy everything in supermarkets, so there are less and less "droguerías", (and less little "neighborhood shops" in general).
In Mexico we have "droguerias" but are different from Spain, here they sell more like "natural medicine" that are medicines made with plants and stuffs like that. So curious the differences
Well, I’m from the north of Colombia and we say Farmacia instead of Droguería but in a Droguería you can find medicine, cosmetics, condoms, diapers, paper toilet, etc…you can even get ice cream in a Droguería here in Colombia. I knew the word botica, in my region there is a famous drug store named La Botica.

In regards to the "güera/guera" thing. As Spanish speakers we have the umlaut/dieresis(the 2 periods on top of a word, for us is witht he letter "u" only on certain words), but, across all Hispanic countries it has been "lost" in a way, less and less people use it with time. They used to teach it in primary schools, basic stuff along with your ABCs. I don't know if they still do, but i remember it being thought still in the 80s/90s/00s. Like in Dominican Republic we have a province called Higüey but for a long time now it's been spelled Higuey. Yes, people know how to read it as it supposed to along with other words, but that is because we are familiar with the pronunciation so when we read certain words we know the meaning already and how to say it out loud. I always make sure to use it. Personally, I say, bring back the "ü".
That means the grammar is going backwards, since now you have to have previous knowldge of how the word is pronounced in order to read it properly. What a pity.
The reason Colombians call blondes "monos o monas" has to do with a monkey called the Cotton Top Tamarin. It can only be found in NW Colombia. It has very light long hair. Most young Colombians don't even know why or where the term originated anymore.
Or might also be because Mona o mono in spain meant beutifuel so maybe I'm Colombia people of Blonde hair were considered beautiful and the slang just kept going on ...

yeahhh, i felt that some of the colombian words she was referring to were very specific to the region she is from (Cali) because in Barranquilla cervezas are called frias, we use the term monas, but also rubias, and farmacia is common although we use drogueria tambien.

creo que te refieres al acento antioqueño paisa, en mujeres es un sexy pero también un poco de superficial/boba pero en hombres da miedo. y hablando de acentos ni te imaginas lo diferentes que son en terminología, modismos, vulgarismos incluso la forma de conjugar también de los Santandereanos, Huilenses, Llaneros, Pastusos, Costeños, Cachacos, Caleños, Boyacenses, etc.

Haha that’s right for us colombianos 🇨🇴❤️. I grew up in Canada so in high school I learned Mexican Spanish and then in college I learned Spain Spanish it tends to confuse me a bit and then growing up with Colombian Spanish. So it tends to confuse me a little.

hope this will help you. 1. you can't say "es" (is) when the pronouns is "yo" (I). "es" it's used when the pronouns are "el" (he) and "ella" (she). so we say "yo soy estudiante" (I am a student). 2. "sago" doesn't exist, maybe you wanted to say "sé", that is the presente indicativo of "saber" (know), so it's "yo se un poco de español" (I know a little bit of Spanish). 3. "Estudio en instituto global". If "instituto global" is the name of the institute then you have to say "Estudio en el instituto global", but if you are saying that you study in an institute without specifying wich one, then you have to use the article "un" (a/an). 4. "Tengo que estudiar a español más". The adverb "más" goes before not after. it's "tengo que estudiar más español". (i have to study more Spanish)

No es cierto. Se puede decir tanto "tengo que estudiar español más", como "tengo que estudiar más español". Lo que pasa es que la preposición "a" no tiene sentido en la oración.
Nah, tú te centras en un país hispano y con eso es suficiente. Nosotros raramente conocemos las palabras de los otros países, pero eso no quiere decir que cuando visitamos los otros, tenemos problemas

A monjita would be a 373cc beer bottle. Gaseosa literally means gaseous, comes from bebida gaseosa, gaseous beverage. Referring to all carbonated soft drinks. Soda is only carbonated water. Pimiento is indistinctly used as morrón, and it's the proper name from bell peppers.

En Colombia es mucho más común droguería que farmacia, pero me sorprendió mucho que en São Paulo y supongo que en otros estados más en Brasil, es también común hablar de "drogaria" y no de Farmacia, por lo menos en São Paulo, no sé en otros estados

In the Philippines we pronounce Guera as Ge-ra like war. And we understand Farmacia more than Drogueria because the latter may mean different. 😅 Back packs are just simply the same, back packs because Maleta here in the Philippines means the big luggage. 😉 Bolsa in the Philippines is like Bulsa or pocket. 🙂 Pacifier in the Philippines is called Chupon. 🙂 Beer is Cerveza in the Philippines. 🙂

Soda...soft drinks Backpack...just backpack Pacifier...chupon Jelly..just jelly A linguist professor once told me if you are fluent in English, Spanish and Bahasa(from Indonesia and Malaysia), Philippine Tagalog language is easy to understand.
