In this video Tom explains to our fellow RC enthusiasts how to setup a 3-Position switch for use with Dual Rates and Expo. The settings are just for demonstration, it is always recommended to consult your models manual for suggested travel and rate settings. For this demo we use the DX6e but the menu structure is virtually identical for each current gen Spektrum transmitter.

Hi Tom, how can I assign a 3-position switch for 3- Flight modes- No gains, AS3X only, SAFE On for eflite Viper. The manual only explains about SAFE select but not how to assign 3- Flight modes. That will be a great help. Thank you:)

as a beginner I very much do appricate the Spectrum guys creating these types of helpful " how to " videos.....but having already set up my rudder, elev and alerion duel rates and expos on a 3 position switch of my DX6, before I watched this video......I never thought about manually changing that " curve " setting......and actually after watching this video I found his explanation of that " curve " setting to be a little confusing...... so now I am wondering if I did something wrong....can anyone help explain this ...thanks

Thanks guys. I'm setting up an NX10 DR / Expo on switch C and I've managed to disable 2 of the switch positions (hash background for switch position) and I can't see how to re-enable them? Any help appreciated.

What exactly do you mean, having trouble with dual rates? They don't malfunction or default out when properly programmed, right?

How do you setup a single 3- position switch for low rates for rudder, elevator and ailerons ?

Where you select the switch, use that same switch for each control

Quick question I will be assembling a few warbirds and I’m setting up my D/R and Expos on my Eflite P-47 Razorback, T-28 Trojan and P-51D Mustang all models are 1.2m. the set up for D/R are provided in the instructions but the Expos aren’t. Considering I’m a beginner pilot which expos would you suggest I set my expos at for High, Mid and lower Expos ?

Hi Dev! For warbirds I normally go with 30% expo for high, 20% for mid and 10% for low. One of the things about expo is it is purely a user preference so you may find that those values are too high or low, and you can adjust them to your taste and flying style. Hope that helps!

Hi, and thank you for these very instructive videos. I am setting up an E-Flight BNF Cirrus. How do you interpret the ailerons, rudder, and elevator specifications in the manual ? The dual rate for ailerons is 9 mm, and 25 mm. How do you transfer these values to my transmitter ?

There should be a transmitter setup chart on the next page of the manual.

@@georgespapillon364 Which Cirrus? From what I can tell both online manuals give a suggested throw % and both say 100% for High and 70% for Low

@@SpektrumRCvideos all of my 3 way switches suddenly stooped working in position 0. Now they act only as 2 ways. It happened to all my 3 ways. I have the dx6e
