I had a Korean roommate in college, and his mom would make us the real food. She made her own kimchi and I remember the first time taking a bite, thinking, "Oh, wow, YUMMY!" and then suddenly it was like my mouth was on fire hahaha, couldn't eat any more after that. 🔥

Good choice! Tell Raju that it's polite to slurp noodles in Japan, Korea and China. It shows appreciation to the chef and gives a compliment to the food. That takes care of those long, long noodles! 😄

I make my own Kimchi now at home. I had a friend who was from Korea, she got me to try kimchi. Her version was too hot for me to enjoy.... but I loved the flavors. Found a recipe online "Ultimate Kimchi" saved to computer memory (thankfully as it's difficult to find now.) I made a batch & reduced the spiciness... it's still hot, but now I can enjoy the flavors more. Yum!

Weird. I'm German, so I'm far more away from East Asia than people from India but I have to admit that I always used chopsticks to eat food like this for at least the last 25 years. I'm curious why you served the bowls with forks. It's a total different experience and even the taste is different.

Maybe because they don't know how to use chopsticks or don't want to? Where they are from, it's often the cultural norm to eat with their fingers, with the help of thin bread of some kind to 'scoop', I'd imagine that to some of them even forks are new enough, let's not spoil their food by getting it cold as they struggle to actually get it into their mouths? 😅

I don't like thick noodles at all I like top ramen or cup o' noodles, liptons also very good the noodles are thinner than rice even I can't eat noodles with sticks, the concept is absurd & only self-defeating to me unless your good at it but even still it's easy enough to just use a fork

The "correct" way to eat noodles with sticks is to hold your bowl with your other hand, lift the bowl to your mouth, grab a bunch of noodles with the sticks, shove the noodles in your mouth, and inhale with your mouth while using your sticks to grab more noodles. Anyone who lifts soup noodles more than a couple inches either makes a mess or is showing off.🍜🙃🙃
