Sweet and Spicy Potato Recipe - Gamja Jorim 감자조림 (Korean Braised Potatoes)
- So Delicious with Gochujang Paste !
INGREDIENTS
- 2 servings
4 medium sized potatoes, peeled 400g - 500g
1 large onion
7 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons water
1.5 tablespoons gochujang
(Korean red chili paste
: controle the amount of Gochujang to change how spicy you want it to be. I used extra spicy Gochujang)
1.5 tablespoons corn syrup
1 tablespoon sesame oil
a little bit of pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
METHOD
1. Peel and cut the potatoes and onion.
2. Soak the potatoes for 30 minutes.
3. Prepare the sauce by combining the ingredients.
4. In a large frying pan or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook the potatoes.
5. When the potatoes are almost cooked, add onion and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes.
6. Pour the sauce, cook until the potatoes have absorbed the sauce.
7. Remove the pan from the heat.
8. Serve with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
9. Enjoy.
