Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES) James & Mike Mondays 

You guys should give this one another shot. You missed many of the cool features like power hits for consecutive punches landed, throwing dumpsters, running, double smashes, and using the hero cards to summon other super heros. You do get extra lives and continues later on. The only better bet em up on the SNES to this is Turtles in Time.

When you learn the controls and know all the moves and get into it this game is actually pretty fucking awesome

Personally I think James and Mike didn't give this game enough credit. They didn't say it was shit, but it also wasn't good. I think it is good but with a few flaws. At the time, this was the best Spiderman game out there. Great music, good control, and simple fun gameplay. I say check it out. But that's my opinion.

This game ain't too tough with practice. It literally comes down to having enough extra lived to survive the carnage fight outside the orphanage. That dude is pretty hard.

The game is not average. Is a very challenging beat 'em up. I love James and Mike but they can't keep punching the shit out of enemies for an entire run without attempting any other move and then say it's not that good. Despite being an LJN game, Maximum Carnage is one of my favourite games of all time. You guys should give it another try ;)

The idea of Spider-Man calmly walking down the street to beat up thugs is pretty hilarious.

Can't wait to see Carnage on the big screen in the future. He's one of my fav villans. You should try out the sequel sometime called Separation Anxiety. It's co-op.

Sometimes it's really hard to watch you guys play games because it seems that simple game mechanics just slip through your fingers and you can't figure it out

This is an excellent game, one of my favorites on the SNES. Also LJN never "made" a single game, they are were only a publisher.

I actually prefer spiderman separation anxiety, that is kind of a sequel to this game, published by acclaim. Its in a very similar style but you can actually play two players with venom and spiderman. You should play it next

Best spider-man game of the 90s 100%

Maximum Carnage and Seperation Anxiety were such great games back when i was a young kid.

I played Maximum Carnage so much as a kid, I remember lots of little secrets and powerups throughout the levels.

Used to have the sega genesis version of the game, loved the game, loved the soundtrack.

I remember walking through the video rental store as a kid and seeing this, knowing it was probably bad ass.

I luved this game when I was younger. It's funny I was screaming climb the walls for extra health and 1up.

I still own this game, it's great. Only wish it was 2 player. They made a sequel for it called Separation Anxiety which is 2 player that I have too but it's not as good.

Separation Anxiety (the follow up to this) is actually two player...but it is a less quality game

There is a two-player sequel game to this, called Venom Spider-Man Separation Anxiety. The multiplayer is the only good thing about over Maximum Carnage, as the graphics aren't as good, and the story not that appealing.

I played this and Amazing Spider Man so much when I was young, Id play through the entirety of each game at least once a week.

This game was made by Software Creations of Manchester, England. I used to work for them in the early 2000's and I remember seeing giant posters and cardboard cutouts of maximum carnage. It was a cool place to work.

This game is good also on Genesis

Fun fact: if you use the cross attack (using the web attack in the direct middle of the two), you can kill the mini-bosses in one hit.

Guys you missed many of the special moves, like the flip kick, swing-web kick, and the double-enemy web grabbing. Also, you can find many power-ups by climbing the walls.

The Amazing Spiderman for the Wii its a pretty good game. It's very much like the PS3/X360 version without open world. One might think that's bad but, actually, it makes for a game in wich you don't have to wander around to find someone to beat. Hidden gem for the Wii

Those weapons that look like shoe horns are called blackjacks. Basically two leather pieces sewn together with lead shot inside, they're designed to knock people out.

This is actually a really good game, you have to learn the fight mechanics it's not all just punching.

Venom's actually been a good guy for a while now, ever since the symbiote moved from Eddie Brock to Flash Thompson. EDIT: I mean, they once turned Aunt May into Galactus' herald and gave her the powers of the Silver Surfer, so that could be a good game.

That scene in the Wishlist episode made me laugh so hard that I literally fell out of my chair and went down to the floor *almost* passing out from the laughter.

I never thought the game was very good. Seriously, Turtles in Time, Streets of Rage, Rushing Beat etc. all came out before this and are way better.

Venom is so overrated, Carnage is way more badass. Should be in the next Spider-Man movie.

There definitely should be more games where you can play as Venom.

I like how the "stamina meter" idea they're describing is Streets of Rage 3's system. Genesis does!

This is the best Spider-Man game, you guys are pretty terrible at it though, twice missing hidden collectable you climbed near so it was on screen, and only doing basic combos/not using full set of attacks and abilities.
