In this one, we actually get into the combat portion of the sim, with some target practice against unarmed drones. I chose four FW-190A8 Antons, because they're famous for their ability to tank punishment. I've emptied every round I can carry into some of these things without a decisive result, so they're a good choice for aerial gunnery practice.
However, in this video, I get a number of lucky hits, and send them all down in flames. Like, literally on fire. One in particular burned real pretty. Normally, when I kill an Anton, it's with a fuel tank hit, which leaves a telltale trail of pale green mist. I had hoped to show you what that looks like, but not one of the four targets was willing to oblige. So, I went up and shot some more until the fuel leak happened, and used that for the title card. The vapor passing just beneath my plane is the pale green smoke I'm talking about. If you see that, your target is already dead, they just don't know it yet. You can stop shooting, and as long as you don't let them use their last few minutes of powered flight to avenge themselves, it's a win for you. All the more so if you beat 'em up so hard that one landing strut falls down to reveal a shredded tire. Can't land on the blown tire, can't retract the gear for a belly landing. So satisfying, that.
Also possibly of interest: when I landed after stopping the recording, I went to re-arm, and saw that I had 0% gun ammo. That last guy I shot down, was killed by my very last shell!
No AI pilots were harmed in the making of this video. They all bailed out (I think.)
