Love this Cadillac model year (1973), as it brings back memories of my high school days. I would love to see the black edition, as that is the color I most associate with limos. Thanks for another well done video that includes a history lesson as well, John.
Thanks! I was in NYC on the mid-seventies, when I saw a silver gray Caddy limo parked in front of the Dakota. Up until then, I thought all limos were black! I thought the silver was incredibly classy. This brings back those memories.
I prefer the black one, but unfortunately, all the black models are out of stock! (Almost all presidential/boss/mafia limousines are black, right?😂) After watching your video, I ordered the gold one yesterday! (The silver-gray color is also not available!) This gold Caddy is too fancy! I can't wait for it to come to see if it's worth the price!
@Kuvakas Yes, I do. This gold model is nearly perfect, except for the interior of the roof. There is nothing there, just gold resin! At least Stamp should make it the same color as the seats. This gold limousine looks big, bold, flashy, and stands out. I really like it.
The duck tail emboss styling on the rear quarters is an error in styling. It's 20 plus feet of brick styling then the designer tries to swoop it up? It may have made some sense if he went with it and really duck tailed the end but the swoop dee schmoop gets weirdly and comically aborted as if the designer is saying c'mon you don't really think that was going to work on this thing.
To the designer's credit, it was 1973. Government restrictions and newly mandated safety measures all had a huge impact on styling. The domestic manufacturers were doing the best they could. It's one of the reasons many believe this year to be the beginning of the "Malaise Era."
